Daily Racing Tips – The Championships Day 1 Special

Randwick - Race 6 2:30pm AEST

No. 1 Anamoe

Anamoe is deserving of his status as a dominant favourite in the Inglis Sires’.

He finished in the placings in the Blue Diamond Stakes, proved that was no fluke with his win in the Todman Stakes and stormed home late to finish second in the Golden Slipper.

The step-up to 1400 metres shouldn’t be a problem for him and he will have every possible chance from barrier five with James McDonald in the saddle.

Randwick - Race 7 3:15pm AEST

No. 2 Rocket Spade

Rocket Spade is the value runner in what is a very open edition of the Australian Derby.

There is a question mark over some of his main rivals at 2400 metres, but he proved he can run the trip strongly with his fighting win in the New Zealand Derby and there is no fitter horse in this field.

New Zealand-trained horses have an excellent record in the Australian Derby and he maps to get a dream run in transit from barrier two.

Randwick - Race 10 5:10pm AEST

No. 3 Marboosha

Marboosha started her Autumn campaign with an outstanding win in the Incognitus Stakes at Flemington and she ran well behind Isotope in the Darby Munro Stakes last start.

This race is no tougher and Randwick is a track that suits.

She will settle in the second half of the field and will be storming home late.

Morphettville - Race 7 4:26pm AEST

No. 13 Chica Fuerte

Chica Fuerte is the class horse in the Port Adelaide Guineas and she should prove too good for her rivals.

She showed her quality with a comfortable win in the Alexandra Stakes at The Valley and she is a proven performer at this level.

The Hinchinbrook filly should win this race and head into the Australasian Oaks as the horse to beat.
