Anamoe proved himself the best colt in the country by taking out the Caulfield Guineas on Saturday and now the best fillies in the land do battle over 1600m in the Thousand Guineas this Wednesday afternoon.
The Group 1 race has been won by many great fillies including Wenona Girl (1960), Alinghi (2004) and more recently Atlantic Jewel in 2011.

Benchmark 70 Handicap (1600m)
Cheerful Moment is a talented young colt who has been racing very consistently so far this prep placing in four of his five starts.
The son of Mongolian Khan should be plenty fit for this assignment and has drawn perfectly in barrier four.

Group 3 Coongy Cup (2000m)
The Maher and Eustace trained import Floating Artist has gone from strength to strength throughout this prep and has managed to put three wins in a row leading into the Group 3 Coongy Cup.
He romped home to win by 2.5 lengths last start at Ladbrokes Park Sandown and the step up to 2000m at this stage in his prep is ideal.
He’s the one to beat.

Benchmark 78 Handicap (2000m)
Alcyone was doing his best work late at Flemington behind Mr Brightside on the soft going last start and the step up in trip will suit for this race.
Damian Oliver will steer from barrier five.

Benchmark 84 Handicap (2400m)
Reflect The Stars has been racing consistently this prep with four three placings in a row before breaking through for a deserved with in Adelaide last start.
She went around as a very short priced favourite in that race but she got he job done and I like that she has been given four weeks in between runs.
She’ll be plenty fit and represents good each way value.

Benchmark 84 Handicap (1400m)
Agreeable is a talented young mare who has managed two wins from 11 career race starts but she has been competitive in black type racing in th epast.
She finished within two lengths of the winner in the Listed Nitschke Stakes at Morphettville before finishing fourth in the Adelaide Guineas during her last prep.
She returned an impressive second first up at Bendigo and although this is a step up in class, she drops six kilos in weight.

Group 3 Blue Sapphire Stakes (1200m)
Profiteer did a lot of work in front in the Group 1 Moir Stakes at The Valley when resuming against the older horses and was beaten just 2.6 lengths going over the line.
He is proven at the top level and has a class advantage on this field in the Group 3 Blue Sapphire Stakes.
Port Louis made a long and sustained run at The valley when first up but just found one better.
He can make a sharp improvement into his second run and represents good value at his current price.

Group 1 Thousand Guineas (1600m)
Hinged took the shortcut at Randwick in the Group 1 Flight Stakes last start and was only narrowly denied by Never Been Kissed.
The talented filly has managed five wins from nine career starts and has been unplaced only once in her short career.
She is a progressive type of horse and with improvement she will take some beating.

Group 3 Ladies' Day Vase (1600m)
The Chris Waller trained Only Words has competed at Group 2 level in both her runs so far this prep, finishing only 1.7 lengths off So You Assume in the Stocks Stakes at The Valley last start.
She won the Group 2 The Roses at Doomben during her last prep before finishing four lengths off Duais in the QLD Oaks and she should be nearing peak fitness now for the Group 3 Ladies’ Day Vase.
