Daily Racing Tips – Kilmore Cup Day Special

Kilmore - Race 4 2:25pm AEDT

No. 3 Kiss Me If You Can

Kiss Me If You Can steps out in search of his hat-trick following a half-length win at Bendigo in his latest.

He can kept finding that day and was strong through the line, so he does look capable of going on with it despite the step up in grade.

The five-year-old kicked off his winning streak by a comfortable two lengths over the track and trip last month and gets the in-form Luke Nolen in the saddle for the first time.

No. 5 Smart Elissim

Smart Elissim was a winner over this distance three back at Ballarat and is worth forgiving on his latest run at Sale in a race dominated by those on pace.

The son of Smart Missile is a three-time winner over this journey and has drawn to get a lovely run back from the speed.

It looks as though the tempo will be more to his liking here, so look for him late.

Kilmore - Race 7 4:10pm AEDT

No. 1 Justacanta

This is a step back in grade for Justacanta following a win in the Group 2 Linlithgow two starts back.

The son of Per Incanto then went on to run third in the Chatham Stakes, and I thought he had plenty left in the tank when crossing the line.

He’s made only one start over the mile previously, and while the top-weight is a slight query, everything about his latest performance suggested he’s looking for the trip.

No. 1 Redwood Rising

Redwood Rising was a winner over this trip at Warrnambool third-up last time in work.

He overcame a wide run to finish well for third in his last-start at Pakenham and should take plenty of improvement away from that effort with Craig Newitt back in the saddle.

The extra couple of kg’s is the main query, but considering he’s carried big weight over the line before, he should be fighting out the finish.
