No. 6 Bundle of Fun

Bundle of Fun has shown plenty of promise in five starts for trainer Patrick Payne.

The Written Tycoon filly won her maiden two back at Pakenham over the mile and was quickly sent back to the paddock for a freshen-up.

She returned to the races two weeks ago to run fourth at Sandown over shorter where she came from dead last at the turn to just miss out on a place. That effort suggested she’s looking for further, and she should be doing her best work late again.

No. 8 Mckeever

This looks like a nice race for Mckeever stepping back in grade.

He’s been game in defeat in his last two starts at The Valley and is racing on a quick backup after running 2.5L fifth to Rogue Star over the same trip last week.

Joe Bowditch has won on him previously, and the pair should be able to settle somewhere towards midfield from the gate.

No. 2 Mr Cancun

Mr Cancun looks tough to beat in this year’s Koroit Cup.

The Lindsey Smith-trained five-year-old has come agonisingly close in his last two starts, running a nose second at Flemington before achieving a similar result last week in the Woodford Cup over the track and trip.

How he handles the quick backup is the main query, but the way he hit the line last week was impressive to say the least. Doesn’t need to improve much and is the one to beat.

No. 6 Thunder Point

Thunder Point presents third-up hoping to improve on last week’s runner-up effort over the track and trip.

That was his first run on his home track, and the way he finished off suggests he’s going to be tough to beat on the short turnaround.

The Symon Wilde-trained four-year-old has found the money in three of his five starts so far and has drawn to get back and run on late.
