Cowra - Race 2 12:15pm AEDT

No. 1 The Drover

The Drover has returned a place in each of his last two starts at Orange and another win appears to be around the corner.

He settled behind the speed and stuck on well over a similar journey two runs back and should be fitter now with the blinkers going back on again.

This is a step back in class and he is deserving of his status as favourite.

Cowra - Race 5 2:00pm AEDT

No. 8 Millime

Millime is a two-time winner over this distance and couldn’t have been more impressive in her second-up run at the Sapphire Coast.

The daughter of Danerich gapped her rivals by 1.5L over further and this race really doesn’t look that much tougher.

She’s won third-up in the past and should look to roll forward and make her own luck on the speed.

Cowra - Race 7 3:16pm AEDT

No. 6 Lettre D’Amour

Lettre D’Amour has been up for a while but has held her form to return a place at Wagga two runs back.

The mare by Foreplay finished only a length off the winner over the same trip, and she was only beaten late over the final 100m in her latest start at Beaumont.

Fitter, and with 3kg’s off, she’s good value as a five-time winner over 1200m.

Cowra - Race 8 3:51pm AEDT

No. 5 Athena’s Lad

Athena’s Lad was strong to the line first-up at Gilgandra where he went on to score over 1800m.

He’s facing a tougher assignment here in the Cowra Cup, but this does look a race he can win stepping back in trip with some relief at the weights.

Drawn to get a much kinder run in transit this time from behind the speed, he’ll be tough to beat with a little more fitness on his side.
