No. 1 Alastor

Alastor made every post a winner last week at Wyong over 2100m and now returns on a quick backup hoping to make it a double.

The four-year-old has been up for a long time, but this race doesn’t look much tougher with the 3kg claim put to good use.

He should have no problem taking the lead from the inside draw, and with form on all going, he’ll take some catching.

Gosford - Race 7 4:55pm AEDT

No. 6 Twitch

Twitch strips fitter for three runs back and is worth forgiving on her last start at Warwick Farm over 1200m.

Mark Newnham’s mare led up until the final furlong before weakening significantly under pressure to finish seventh.

A post-race vet examination revealed some issues, but she looks to be past them now coming off a three-week break. The drop back in class should also help her cause.

Pakenham - Race 5 7:45pm AEDT

No. 2 Miss Divine Em

Miss Divine Em doesn’t win out of turn, but there was a lot to like about her second-up effort at Warrnambool last time out to suggest she can add another to her resume.

The Patrick Payne-trained mare overcame a wide barrier to stick on well for fourth, and she’s drawn much more kindly this time around with Billy Egan in the saddle.

The pair have combined to win twice in the past, and with fitness now on her side, Miss Divine Em should be working home strongly.

Pakenham - Race 8 9:15pm AEDT

No. 2 Xingyun

Xingyun is three weeks between runs after just getting home narrowly for a win over the mile at Colac last time out.

He’ll need some luck from the wide barrier, but the form behind him from that race reads well with both place getters going on to find the money in recent starts.

Will Gordon was responsible for his win last time out, and the pair should be saving their best for late if they can shuffle across early and find cover.
