Wembley Stadium in London will play host to a Heavyweight Title fight between two of the best in the division.

Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte will stand across from each other in front of a huge crowd on Sunday afternoon (AEDT).

Fury is widely regarded as the lineal heavyweight champion of the world and he is in fact only the third person in heavyweight boxing history to hold The Ring magazine title twice alongside Floyd Patterson and Muhammad Ali.

His undefeated record will go on the line in this fight and our full Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whyte Preview can be read below.

Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whyte Betting

It is no surprise that Fury has opened as an extremely short favourite in this match up.

He is after all ranked the fourth best active boxer, pound for pound, in the world by BoxRec and ESPN behind Saul Alverez, Gennadiy Golovkin and Terence Crawford.

Head to head betting has Fury $1.17 and Whyte $5.00.

The most popular method of victory has Fury by KO/TKO at $1.67 and $3.25 if the judges are needed to give him the victory.

There is only one way that Dillian Whyte can win the fight according to the punters with only a slight increase on his head to head price for him to win by KO/TKO at $6.00.

Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whyte Recent Form

Dillian Whyte has lost twice in his professional boxing career.

Once came at the hands of the former Heavyweight champion of the world Anthony Joshua in 2015 and the other was in August 2020 against Alexander Povetkin.

He avenged that loss with a flurry of punches that ended the Russian in the fourth round in March last year.

The only blemish on Tyson Fury’s professional record came in the way of a draw against Deontay Wilder which was his first real test after a long period away from the ring.

The Gypsy King proved he is not only a far better exponent of the sweet science but a better power puncher than Wilder with back to back KO wins over his nemesis.

How Dillian Whyte Can Win

As the betting suggests, Whyte has only a puncher’s chance in this match up.

Deontay Wilder troubled Fury at times in their trilogy with his power punching and we all thought the first fight might have been finished after a beautiful right hand that floored the Gypsy King.

Dillian Whyte is a much more conventional boxer than Wilder but he has every bit as much power.

This is evident in 19 KO wins from 28 wins (30 fights) including a vicious punch that turned Derek Chisora’s lights out back in 2018.

How Tyson Fury Can Win

At 206cm Fury has a huge height and reach advantage over Whyte at 198cm.

He had no problem with his last two opponent’s at this height, knocking out Tom Schwarz in round two and winning and unanimous decision against Otto Wallin.

We have never seen a heavyweight boxer of his stature move with such ease and his footwork has rarely been seen in this division.

Time and time again we have seen the Gypsy King stand across from the next big power puncher and time and again he out boxes his opponent.

In a division that is so dangerous and so tough to dominate, Fury has managed to remain unscathed and Whyte is nothing he has not seen before.

Our Prediction

Tyson Fury has not held back in his desire to return to his country and fight in front of his dedicated fans in a stadium, and although he thought it would be Anthony Joshua, I’m sure he doesn’t mind that it will be Dillian Whyte.

He has not fought in England since he faced Sefer Seferi in Manchester in 2015, just after beating Wladimir Klitschko for the WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO and The Ring Titles.

He is 33 years old and has barely been hit and Dillion Whyte will not stand in his way as he continues to etch his name in the heavyweight record books.

So long as he bides his time and doesn’t get caught up in a slugging match with a dangerous puncher, he wins this fight and the value may lie in a later finish or decision win.
