Ballarat - Race 3 1:40pm AEDT

No. 4 Texcel

Heavenly Eagle should be breaking his maiden here if Craig Williams can land in the right spot.

The lightly-raced three-year-old missed out only narrowly on debut at Sandown back in February and was strong late over 1300m a few weeks later.

He’s been kept fresh for the run and looked very impressive in recent jump-outs. Drawn the rail, he’ll be tough to hold out providing he handles the conditions.

Ballarat - Race 5 2:50pm AEDT

No. 4 Texcel

Open race, but it does setup nicely for the Maher and Eustace-trained Texcel.

The son of Exceed and Excel won over the mile at Sandown two runs back and was probably a little bit keen over the same track and distance in his latest when he weakened late on speed.

He should be ridden a little more patiently here under John Allen and there’s a lot to like about his wet track form. The blinkers come off now and I expect plenty of improvement to follow.

Ballarat - Race 6 3:30pm AEDT

No. 5 Narrated

Narrated has a good first-up record with a win and a place to her name.

She was a slightly frustrating horse to follow during the spring often finding one better, but the fact she’s found the money in each of her last nine starts reads exceptionally well.

She’s also cashed a cheque in all three starts over 1400m, while her wet-track form also stands out.

Ballarat - Race 7 4:10pm AEDT

No. 7 Redjina

Redjina has been successful in two of his last four starts, most recently at Mildura where he found the box-seat and kicked clear to win by two lengths.

This is a step up for Noel Watson’s five-year-old, but he does look capable of handling it with plenty of race fitness on his side.

His wet track form passes the test and with little speed engaged, he might just sneak a place.
