No. 5 The Kings Gospel

The Kings Gospel ran well two back over the mile at Pakenham and is worth forgiving on his latest start at Warrnambool on a heavy track.

The three-year-old by Animal Kingdom settled too far back and only got going late, but the fact he’s returning on a quick backup signals plenty of intent from the stable.

Barrier 10 should see him settle back and save his best for late.

Sale - Race 5 3:00pm AEDT

No. 5 Trail Blazer

Few to like here, including Trail Blazer at a decent price.

Michael Moroney’s four-year-old ran a big race for second behind a smart type at Kilmore last time out, a run he can only improve on getting out over further on another rain-affected track.

The Dundeel gelding should push forward again from the wide gate and he won’t be short on fitness with a few runs under his belt.

Sale - Race 6 3:30pm AEDT

No. 9 Newzeel Deal

Newzeel Deal is an honest type that should take improvement away from his first-up run at Pakenham a couple of weeks ago.

The Dundeel four-year-old stuck on well to finish fifth over 1400m and has typically raced well in his second run back from a spell.

He’ll be looking for further distances than this, but with some good wet track form and last Saturday’s Robert Sangster winner Ethan Brown in the saddle, there’s no reason he can’t win here.

Sale - Race 7 4:00pm AEDT

No. 2 House Spouse

House Spouse trialled well at Traralgon last week and looks set to bounce back.

The Reliable Man four-year-old struck a very wet track first-up at Bendigo last month where he never really got going in the finish.

He should be fitter for that run and will likely appreciate the firmer footing in what is a slightly easier race.
