Sandown - Race 2 1:00pm AEDT

No. 4 State Squad

State Squad has been racing like 2400m will suit at this stage of his prep.

The Jim Conlan-trained four-year-old has finished second in both runs back so far and was seen doing his best work late at Sale a few weeks ago from a wide position.

This is slightly tougher up in class and out to the trip for the first time, but with some decent wet track form, he looks up to the challenge.

Sandown - Race 3 1:35pm AEDT

No. 5 Ojosan

Ojosan has a couple of runs under her belt now and should be nearing peak fitness third-up.

David Bourne’s filly found the money at Sale with a bursting run over 1100m last time out and has won and placed on soft going in the psat.

She probably deserved to finish closer after being held up at a key stage and there’s definite improvement to come with Patrick Maloney retaining the ride.

Sandown - Race 4 2:10pm AEDT

No. 1 Sniper Legend

Sniper Legend has been racing well of late and deserves plenty of respect on recent form.

The son of Capitalist won over the track and distance two back and has since resumed to finish a narrow runner-up at Cranbourne in a slightly tougher race.

He should settle a little closer to the speed this time from the wider draw and his chances will only increase with any rain about.

Sandown - Race 7 3:55pm AEDT

No. 1 Excelleration

Excelleration is a promising type out of the Richard Cully yard that really hasn’t put a foot wrong in 10 career starts so far.

The five-year-old has found the money in seven of those 10 attempts so far, including last time out when he won the Kerang Cup leading out of the turn.

He should be plenty fit now with two runs under his belt, and with wet track form, prove tough to beat.
