Bendigo - Race 4 2:45pm AEDT

No. 5 Shootoose

Shootoose looks to have a fitness edge over some of his rivals.

The three-year-old son of Shooting To Win is winless in eight starts, but he couldn’t have been more impressive running second at Bendigo a few weeks ago on a heavy track.

Not sure what kind of conditions he might prefer, but with an in-form Damien Thornton steering, he’ll be given every chance.

No. 9 Mio Capo

Mio Capo won his maiden at the ‘Bool last week and looks capable of taking the next step now.

The son of Shamexpress rolled forward and made every post a winner thanks to a brilliant steer from Linda Meech, and I expect the pair to employ similar tactics here after drawing wide.

There doesn’t appear to be a ton of speed on paper, and his added wet track form is a bonus.

No. 8 Copperfield

Copperfield is a promising type out of the Mick Price and Michael Kent Jr yard that won his maiden quite well at Ballarat a few weeks ago.

The son of Per Incanto took the lead out of the gates and overcame a late challenge to win by 1.5L, a win he can only improve on now getting out to the mile.

He’s clearly a horse with plenty of upside and this race doesn’t look much tougher on paper.

No. 6 Red Cracker

Red Cracker has been knocking on the door recently with two placings from her last two starts at Kerang and Bendigo.

The daughter of Redente overcame a wide run in transit to fill the frame last time out and the way she finished suggested she’s looking for further.

She appears to have a fitness edge over some of her rivals, and we’re getting a nice price at time of publish.
