Ladbrokes Park - Race 1 11:30am AEDT
No. 2 Britannicus
Just the six starters in the first, which does improve Britannicus’ chances.
The old-timer ran a big race at the ‘Bool a couple of weeks ago where he was only beaten narrowly coming off a six-week freshen-up.
He was no match over this trip this time last year, but on a quicker backup with improvement to come, he’s the one they have to beat.
Ladbrokes Park - Race 3 12:50pm AEDT
No. 2 Princess Rhaenys
Princess Rhaenys gave a good sight off a freshen-up when third at Caulfield over the mile a fortnight ago.
She’s been a super consistent mare for Peter Moody in five starts so far, and she does look capable of returning to the winner’s stall here dropping back in class.
The draw is also much kinder on this occasion and I wouldn’t be surprised if Luke Nolen chooses to sit a little closer to the speed.
Ladbrokes Park - Race 4 1:30pm AEDT
No. 2 Blandford Lad
Quite keen on Blandford Lad here coming off an impressive run at the ‘Bool last time out.
The son of Savabeel crossed the line with plenty in hand for second behind El Diez, a run that suggested he’ll handle 3400m for the first time.
He’s been up a while, so there’s no question around his fitness, and I think a firmer track will also be to his liking.
Ladbrokes Park - Race 9 4:25pm AEDT
No. 10 Fiery Red
Happy to roll the dice on Fiery Red in what is a fairly open race.
This boy tends to try his heart out more often than not, as we saw a couple of weeks ago when he finished off strongly to place at the ‘Bool.
Four placings from four goes here at Sandown stands out and he’ll likely roll forward and give his rivals something to catch.
