Echuca - Race 3 1:00pm AEST

No. 6 Hoff to Sea

Hoff to Sea made a promising return at Bendigo a couple of weeks ago when making up good ground for third at Bendigo after missing the start.

He ran two strong races during the spring where he was top five on both occasions, and he has placed in both runs on soft going so far.

Neil Farley has been in the saddle for all of his starts, and I think we’ll see the pair settle a little closer to the speed this time from a much better draw.

No. 5 Thoughts’n’prayers

Thoughts’n’prayers brings winning Tasmanian form with him to Victoria after winning by 2.5L at Hobart a few weeks ago over the same distance.

There’s obviously a bit more class on offer here, but he’s done some of his best racing on rain-affected going during his short career, and it is a plus that David Pires has made the journey to retain the ride.

Barrier 6 should see the pair roll forward and make their own luck on speed.

Echuca - Race 8 4:00pm AEST

No. 2 Duke Of Neworleans

Duke of Neworleans strips fitter for two runs back and just needs a touch of luck to go his way under Ethan Brown.

The son of Hallowed Crown showed improvement a few weeks ago at Donald sticking to the task for sixth, and he has run well previously third-up when only narrowly beaten on the line at Pakenham during his maiden prep.

He’s got some decent wet-track form on the resume, and providing he can offset the wide draw early, he’ll be in this for a long way.

No. 1 Cosmic Rhapsody

Quite keen on Cosmic Rhapsody here each way.

The son of Star Witness has contested much tougher races than this recently, opening his prep two lengths off the winner at Flemington before running on late for second at Bendigo in a close finish.

I think we’ll see a change of tactics here with a forward showing expected from the wide gate, and since he has won over this track and distance previously, he’s worth a shout back in grade.
