Rosehill - Race 6 2:15pm AEST
No. 3 Oscar Zulu
Oscar Zulu has been racing well without winning, finishing fourth in both the Winter Stakes and the Winter Challenge last month.
He probably deserved to run a place last time out after struggling for room down the straight, but the step back to 1400m should suit given he’s found the money on six occasions.
With another rain-affected track expected and a slight fitness edge over some of his rivals, he’s good value.
Caulfield - Race 6 3:15pm AEST
No. 1 Miss Roseiano
Miss Roseiano is a promising filly out of the Peter Gelagotis yard that looks capable of winning the Quezette Stakes at a nice price.
The daughter of Exceed and Excel won on debut in the Blue Diamond Fillies Preview to start the year and was only gunned down late by Revolutionary Miss two weeks later.
She’s worth forgiving on her run in the Blue Diamond from the wide draw, and her recent jump-outs suggest she’s in for another big prep.
Rosehill - Race 8 3:35pm AEST
No. 11 Zoukerino
Zoukerino has been kept fresh for the Rosebud after winning on debut quite well on the Kensington track last month.
The Snitzel colt gapped his rivals by three lengths after Brenton Avdulla found a late gap, and that form stacks up well with one of the place-getters going on to win at Kembla Grange last week.
His recent trial behind Kibou was impressive and another rain-affected track should suit.
Caulfield - Race 8 4:35pm AEST
No. 2 Mr Brightside
Mr Brightside is the class runner in the P.B. Lawrence Stakes and he looks well-placed to make a winning return to the races.
The Lindsay Park five-year-old hasn’t been seen since his boil-over win the Doncaster Mile during the autumn where he burst clear over the final 100m after racing wide.
Craig Williams was responsible for the steer that day and remains in the saddle, and on another rain-affected track, the pair should be tough to hold out in the closing stages.
