Randwick - Race 8 3:55pm AEST
No. 2 Eduardo
We’re set for another outstanding edition of The Shorts, and there’s a real case to be made for Eduardo upsetting Nature Strip for the fourth time in his career.
Joe Pride’s old boy was a dominant winner of the Concorde Stakes first-up, bolting home late to win by a comfortable 2.5L margin.
He’s typically done some of his best racing with a run under his belt and he’s every chance to lead all the way.
Caulfield - Race 7 4:15pm AEST
No. 8 Ayrton
Punters are getting a nice price for the resuming Ayrton in the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes.
The Mick Price and Michael Kent Jr-trained five-year-old has won all four starts first-up from a spell, and he’s probably worth forgiving on his most recent run in the Stradbroke given he had a ton of work to do from the wide gate.
His recent trial win at Canterbury was impressive, and he should be fighting out the finish here if Damian Lane can establish a spot up front.
Caulfield - Race 8 4:50pm AEST
No. 4 Chain Of Lightning
Chain Of Lightning looks to be a horse going places for Peter Moody, and there’s no question she’s the deserving favourite in the How Now Stakes.
The Fighting Sun mare is a perfect five-from-five so far, adding to her record at Caulfield last month with a dominant win in the Cockram Stakes.
The from from that has been franked with Kissonallforcheeks going on to win last week, and there’s no reason she can’t score again with Jamie Kah retaining the ride.
