No. 1 Huetor

Huetor looks to have a class edge over his rivals in the Australian Cup Prelude.

The Snowden-trained stayer was beaten seven lengths first-up in the Chipping Norton Stakes, a fair effort given he’s never really been a weight-for-age horse.

His win in the Doomben Cup last year was strong, and he should be better suited dropping back in class and out to 2000m in his second run back.

No. 3 I Wish I Win

I Wish I Win has a chance to add a Group 1 to his resume in this year’s Newmarket Handicap

The Kiwi import emerged as a horse to follow during the spring when gapping his rivals by four lengths on debut at Caulfield, proving that was no fluke three starts later storming the line late in the Golden Eagle to win at Rosehill.

His first-up effort in the Lightning Stakes was full of merit, getting back early and running on out wide to miss only narrowly behind Coolangatta. With some experience down the Flemington straight and a run under his belt, he’ll be very hardto hold out.

No. 3 Hope In Your Heart

Hope In Your Heart looks a good value play in this year’s Coolmore Classic.

The Dundeel mare was enormous first-up in the Guy Walter Stakes at Randwick, settling well back in the field before unleashing with a well-timed run out wide.

She won over the track and distance as a three-year-old and was far from disgraced over the same journey in the Golden Eagle last year. This is tougher, but if she produces that same turn of foot, she’s a big chance.

No. 4 Sibaaq

There’s a case to be made for a few in this year’s Ajax Stakes, including Sibaaq at a

nice price.

Annabel Neasham’s import gave a good sight first-up in the Liverpool Cup at Randwick, making up good ground out wide to finish just under two lengths behind the in-form Think About It.

He probably would have run a place if he didn’t cop a bump down the straight, but with some good second-up form to his name and three wins over 1500m, he’s capable of making amends.
