No. 1 Alligator Blood

Alligator Blood is hoping to defend his crown in the Underwood Stakes on a short back up.

The son of All Too Hard was game to the line in the Makybe Diva Stakes last week, running his usual race on the speed before he was swamped late by the impressive Mr Brightside.

How he handles the quick turnaround is the big question, but with a couple of runs under his belt, he looks ready to run a huge race out over further.

No. 1 Atishu

Atishu has big claims in another competitive edition of the Golden Pendant.

The Savabeel mare was beaten two lengths fresh in the Sheraco Stakes a fortnight ago, held up for a run at a crucial stage but really finding the line nicely once clear.

She has some form around good horses over the last 12 months, and also boasts an impressive second-up record. Out over further, she should prove hard to beat.

Rosehill - Race 7 3:20pm AEST

No. 7 Waterford

Waterford impressed on return in the Theo Marks Stakes a fortnight ago, finishing within a length of Golden Mile after working home nicely down the outside.

The Chris Waller-trained gelding should take plenty of improvement away from that performance, and there’s also plenty to like about his excellent second-up record during his short time at the races.

With a genuine tempo expected, he should be able to get back early and finish over the top in the Shannon Stakes.

Rosehill - Race 8 4:00pm AEST

No. 1 Militarize

Militarize might be the best value play in this year’s Golden Rose Stakes. The Dundeel colt was beaten three-quarters of a length in the Run to the Rose last start, taken back early before making up good late ground down the outside.

He combined with Hong Kong superstar Joao Moreira to win the Sires’ Produce over this distance during the autumn, the pair reuniting for the first time on Saturday from a perfect draw.

Fitter and showing he clearly wants further, he’s more than capable of winning.
