Randwick - Race 4 1.20pm AEDT

No. 6 Marquess

Another win for Marquess wouldn’t surprise based on recent form.

The Godolphin five-year-old has been as honest as they come this prep, winning three of his four starts across both Warwick Farm and Rosehill.

He quickened well to score by over two lengths coming off the speed last time out, while he tends to do some of his best racing fresh. Drawn well with a trial between starts, the son of Tavistock looks to be one of the better bets on the program.

No. 6 Spacewalk

Spacewalk has a huge opportunity to add some more black type to his growing resume.

The Godolphin sprinter was enormous first-up at Warwick Farm, overcoming a wide ride in transit to score by 1.7 lengths.

Jamie Kah rode him earlier in the year at Sandown in the Zeditave Stakes, and charged with only 53kg’s this time, the pair look incredibly tough to beat.

No. 2 Without A Fight

The Caulfield Cup sets up as the perfect race for Without A Fight.

The Freedman-trained import put together back-to-back wins in the Lord Mayors Cup and The Q22 to wrap up his time in Brisbane earlier in the year, resuming in the Turnbull three weeks ago where he ran within 2.5 lengths of Alligator Blood.

The son of Teofilo rattled off the fifth fastest final 200m of the meeting, making the rise to 2400m more than suitable. He should be able to run his usual race off the speed from barrier 7, and with Mark Zahra retaining the ride, look for the pair to be finishing strongly over the top.

No. 9 For Valour

For Valour can earn a spot in the Big Dance with a win in this year’s Wild Card.

The Zoustar six-year-old doesn’t win out of turn, but he does look set to peak in his fourth run back after working home nicely along the rail to finish a length off an impressive type at Randwick not long ago.

Regan Bayliss has experience on board, and with a bigger gap between runs this time, the Waterhouse and Bott six-year-old looks open to improvement.
