Moonee Valley will again play host to an eight race program to be run under lights this Friday.

The rail will be out 5m and the track is currently rated a soft 5.

Our Ladbrokes preview can be found below.

Race 1 - 6:15pm AEDT

MSC SIGNS PLATE MAIDEN SW (1600 METRES)

Shake’n’Bake has performed well in all four appearances.

The son of Epaulette finished off nicely on debut before heading to the paddock and he’s been solid in three runs back.

Last start over 1500m he was always wide and fought on gamely into third.

The step to the mile looks ideal and he should enjoy a soft run from barrier five under Harry Coffey.

Race 2 - 6:45pm AEDT

HEARTKIDS FOR XMAS HANDICAP BM64 (1600 METRES)

Rocket Scientist didn’t have the best of luck when resuming at Ballarat late last month.

Over the 1400m trip the Dundeel gelding found himself with little room to move in the early part of the straight but let down strongly over the final 150m.

The form from that race has been franked with the winner going on to salute on the Lakeside by 4.25 lengths.

With only the three starts under his belt he looks very promising and the step to the mile here looks ideal.

John Allen goes onboard for Anthony and Sam Freedman.

Race 3 - 7:15pm AEDT

CENTEC SECURITY GROUP HANDICAP BM64 (1000 METRES)

Setosa has just had the two starts and has performed well on both occasions.

Taking a rails run on debut she stuck on well to hold third before being sent for a break.

The daughter of Capitalist resumed in top order, recording a commanding victory over 1000m at Ballarat.

She will have taken good improvement from the run and looks to have plenty of upside.

Zac Spain has partnered her at both outings and retains the ride for Philip Stokes.

Race 4 - 7:45pm AEDT

ALLSTATE REFRIGERATION SERVICES HANDICAP BM70 (2040 METRES)

One Last Kiss is racing is terrific form.

She won well second up over the mile and was only narrowly beaten last start when stepping up to 2100m on the Lakeside.

The Toronado mare has continued to improve as she’s stepped out over further and fitter for the three runs back, she looks ideally placed here at this trip.

Harry Coffey has been onboard for all three runs this time in and he’ll again do the steering.

Race 5 - 8:15pm AEDT

WESTERN GENERAL BODYWORKS HANDICAP BM70 (2040 METRES)

Only lightly raced with the four starts to his name, Arden Green looks very promising.

The son of Wandjina was sent to the paddock after an encouraging debut run and kicked off his campaign with a solid performance behind subsequent stakes winner Warmonger.

Fitter for that first up run he was too good for them second up over 1500m and then up to 2100m, he again proved too strong.

He does rise again in grade but comes here at peak fitness and if Beau Mertens can slot him in and find cover from the awkward gate, he should be right in this.

1 unit – ARDEN GREEN

Race 6 - 8:45pm AEDT

METRO FREIGHT LINES HANDICAP BM64 (1200 METRES)

Esseffninety has made it two wins from three starts this preparation and looks well placed to add to that tally.

A daughter of I Am Invincible, she couldn’t have been more impressive when resuming at Cranbourne.

Hitting the front 200m out in the 1000m event she really charged to the line to put up a 2.75 length margin on them.

Second up she worked home strongly into fourth and last time, she relished the step to 1200m, again powering home late to score comfortably.

Michael Dee goes onboard and will afford her every chance from barrier six.

1 unit – ESSEFFNINETY

Race 7 - 9:15pm AEDT

LADBROKES 55 SECOND CHALLENGE HEAT 8 BM64 (955 METRES)

Hissy Fit resumes.

The speedy Zoustar mare won well on debut back in January and has since finished the runner up in of three of her four subsequent starts.

Only narrowly beaten when resuming last campaign, she does race very well fresh and she’s performed particularly well in both runs here.

Given two jump outs in preparation for her return, she’s looked good in both and is ready to go.

The wide draw is a slight concern but she gets in nicely with the 2kg claim for Wiermu Pinn and with any luck, she’ll be hard to beat.

Race 8 - 9:45pm AEDT

SIMPSON CONSTRUCTION HANDICAP CLASS 1 (1200 METRES)

Private Jumbo returns to the races after a good break.

The ultra consistent son of Reward For Effort has now recorded the one win and five second placings from just six starts and was unlucky not have gone one better on a couple of occasions.

The form around him is solid and he should find this easier than what he was contesting last campaign.

There’s a lot to like about him here, he gets a low draw, the 3kg claim for Tatum Bull and he looked very sharp winning a recent Tatura trial.
