Caulfield - Race 4 4:20pm AEDT

No. 6 Miss Jenni Lynn

I’ve got time for Miss Jenni Lynn here in her second run back.

The Maher and Eustace-trained mare resumed at The Valley a few weeks ago where she was beaten 1.5 lengths, only hitting top gear over the final 200m coming off a wide run in transit.

She should suit the bigger track in her Caulfield debut, and after striking wet tracks in every start since she debuted, I’m keen to see her back on top of the ground.

No. 10 Interlinked

Kiwi-bred three-year-old Interlinked has gone up a nice price coming off an impressive 1.8 length win on debut at Kilmore last month.

The son of Savabeel was given a peach of a ride by Tommy Stockdale, stalking the pace early and driving clear to win well under hands and heels.

How he goes on a dry deck is the query, but he looked to have plenty left to give through the line that day, making the rise in trip more than ideal.

No. 6 Starianne

Starianne has tackled 2000m twice during her short career, once at Group.1 level when beaten two lengths in the Australasian Oaks at Morphettville earlier in the year.

The Sebring mare has been working up to this trip nicely so far in work, winning fresh at Pakenham before a huge effort to just miss out on a place at The Valley a fortnight ago.

She’ll need a pinch of luck from the gate, but with Damian Lane in good form, the pair look every chance.

No. 5 Plus Fours

Plus Fours was good on return at Pakenham a month ago, giving good chase in the finish where he was beaten just over a length in the end.

Phillip Stokes’ five-year-old over-raced a little in the early stages, but he does have scope for improvement after contesting tougher races than this last time in work.

Zac Spain has a handy record in the saddle and the pair should be afforded a lovely cart into the race from the soft gate. Out over further, this sets up nicely.
