Another eight-race card is on offer at Doomben on Wednesday.

Some showers earlier in the week have seen the track downgraded to a Soft 6 with the rail out 7.5m.

For our best bets, read on below.

Race 1 - 1:38pm AEDT

Girls Day Out On Sale Now QTIS 2YO Maiden Plate (1110 METRES)

Lady Bossa Nova did a lot right on debut at Toowoomba a couple of months back.

Kevin Kemp’s two-year-old was afforded a tidy ride with cover in transit, finding the centre of the straight where she finished strongly in a good go for the line.

She hit her stride a little early but does look suited getting out over further.

With similar soft conditions expected, she should be strong late if given the right ride from the inside gate.

Become A BRC Member Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 1 Handicap (1200 METRES)

Boom Court has just found a couple better in recent runs, looming the winner at the top of the straight at Eagle Farm last time out before being gunned down late.

He’s hard fit for four runs back, and after tiring to the line that day, the step back to 1200m does look ideal.

Ryan Wiggins maintains his spot in the irons. Expect the pair to push forward early again and run the race on their own terms.

Sky Racing Fillies and Mares Class 1 Handicap (1200 METRES)

Snow Boum comes back to compete against her own sex after struggling from a tricky gate five weeks ago.

Tony Gollan’s mare has been unlucky not to run a place in all three starts this time in work, but she does look to have a fitness edge over a few of her rivals.

Ryan Maloney has a solid strike rate with the stable and the pair should have no problem landing on the speed from a much kinder gate.

Race 4 - 3:23pm AEDT

Cascade Maiden Plate (1350 METRES)

Payline looks a nice bet to finally break-through for Chris Munce.

The Shooting To Win three-year-old has gone close on all three occasions this prep, working home strongly down the outside on the Gold Coast a couple of weeks ago when a clear third to Barassi.

He looked gone at one point before finding something extra in the tank, seen working strongly through the line. Off that, the rise in trip and the soft conditions should pose zero problems.

Russian Camelot 1st Yearlings On offer @ Widden Maiden Plate (1650 METRES)

Sharman Pete caught the eye when running on late for second at Eagle Farm three weeks ago.

Lee Freedman’s three-year-old turned in a much-improved effort compared to his debut run at Ipswich, the soft conditions perhaps proving the trick as he let down nicely out wide with a big turn of foot.

He’ll likely need to adopt similar tactics from the wide gate, but with a run under his belt over the mile and Boris Thornton sticking, there’s a bit to like.

XXXX Gold Benchmark 68 Handicap (1650 METRES)

Diaco is unplaced in three attempts at this track but his best is certainly good enough to get hte job done.

By Not A Single Doubt, the lightly-raced four-year-old was an impressive two-length winner on the Sunshine Coast a fortnight ago, shifting out from the fence to beat home a couple of promising types in the process.

His record over the mile stands out well on paper, and providing it isn’t too wet, he should give this a real shake.

Ladbrokes Hub Benchmark 65 Handicap (1350 METRES)

Tough race to assess with a few looking more than capable.

O’Miss Behaving can mix her form, but she has been racing better than her recent record suggests.

Rob Heathcote’s mare was placed over shorter here to begin her prep last month, before finishing toward the tail in her last two starts at Eagle Farm where she was slow out of the gates.

The change in rider is significant with James Orman getting a crack in the saddle, especially after over-racing a couple of weeks ago in a key stage.

We know she handles a wet track, and with a good record over the trip, she might be one of the better value plays.

Gallopers Sports Club Benchmark 65 Handicap (2050 METRES)

Artful Girl was going well before running into traffic over the same track and distance three weeks ago.

Another soft track isn’t ideal, but she was placed in both runs prior.

Martin Harley has been in solid form of late, and if he can offset the wide gate early and find cover, he should have plenty to work with.
