Midweek racing goes provincial on January 24th when seven races are run and won at Gosford on New South Wales’s Central Coast.

I’ve run the rule over every horse engaged, and you can find my complete Gosford Tips below.

The Coast Race Day Say 11 May Maiden Plate (1600m)

Beach Party was a big improver third-up and Wyong and is ready to break her maiden at Gosford this week.

The Bryce Heys-trained galloper didn’t show a lot over 1300m two starts back, but she hit the line with intent at her latest and was unlucky not to win.

She’s in peak order this week and might not be offered a better opportunity.

This is one of the weaker tasks that Flambeur has been set recently, and it looks a perfect opportunity to return to winning form.

Flambeur wasn’t disgraced in metro company at each of his first five starts back from a break, while he finished just over a length behind the smart Xtrarevs at Kembla Grange most recently.

He’s hard fit and while he does have to lug topweight on Wednesday, he does look to have most of these rivals covered for class.

Spring Loaded @ Teg Sat 10 Feb Super Maiden Plate (1200m)

Fickle will take plenty of improvement for a credible debut in town, and this shapes as a very winnable race.

The Team Snowden-trained filly indicated ability at the trials prior to debuting, and while she did race greenly in the 1100m Canterbury maiden, she finished only a length and a half behind the winner.

She strips fitter and is drawn to receive every chance under Timmy Clark.

Social Membership Only $49 Provincial 4YO&UP Maiden Plate (1100m)

This looks to be the most open race on the program and there’s a case to be made for almost all of them.

I can’t find anything that I am particularly confident in, and I am happy to stay out of this one from a betting perspective.

Rock At The Races Sat 23 Mar BM64 Handicap (1600m)

Saveadateforme steps out at Gosford on Wednesday third-up and ready to strike.

The Savabeel gelding was two lengths behind the winner at Kembla Grange in his first start back from a break, before producing and eye-catching turn of foot to run on from the tail of the field at his latest and only just miss.

The mile is ideal, and he boasts a fitness edge over several key rivals this week.

Provincial Champs Qualifier Sat 16 Mar BM64 Handicap (1100m)

Memoria absolutely flies fresh and strikes a winnable race when she resumes at Gosford this week.

The Caravaggio mare is so far undefeated at this point of her preparation, but she raced in strong and consistent form throughout her entire campaign last time in, finding form around some quality opposition in races not dissimilar to this one.

She gets some relief in the weights under Ben Osmond and is drawn to receive a lovely run in transit.

Happy Birthday Stacy! Midway Class 1 Handicap (1200m)

This is a tough way to end the day with several key winning chances engaged, but I thought that Canada Bay was open to plenty of improvement, and a race like this one really does look perfect for her.

Canada Bay has won only one of her eleven career starts to date, but it did come at this point of her last preparation, and she beat home some decent horses in that Canterbury maiden that went on to frank the form.

She clearly needed her first run back at Newcastle to tune up, but she gets the services of senior, in-form hoop Adam Hyeronimus this week, and we can have something on each way.
