Mudgee - Race 3 2:10pm AEDT
No. 4 Bit Of Banter
Bit Of Banter won on debut and can continue her rise through the grades at Mudgee today.
The Written Tycoon filly was sent off a popular favourite in betting at Bathurst on debut and didn’t disappoint, kicking clear to greet the judge more than three lengths ahead of her rivals.
With improvement for that experience, this looks the next logical step for her.
Launceston - Race 7 3:59pm AEDT
No. 1 Wings Of Song
Wings Of Song’s recent form has been nothing short of outstanding, and she’s the one for me in today’s Tasmanian Oaks.
Wings Of Song returned to winning form with an impressive performance at Benalla in December and hasn’t taken a backwards step, winning each of her three subsequent starts, including a Listed race in Hobart a fortnight ago.
She’s hard fit and this is the major target.

No. 5 Scopics
I’m keen to stick with Scopics when he steps out third-up in today’s Country Championship Qualifier in Mudgee.
Scopics returned to action with an easy effort to win in BM64 company at Kembla Grange last month, while he was luckless in a far stronger race at Randwick last time, which I am happy to forgive.
With further improvement today and from a good draw, I think he’ll be right in the finish, and we can have an each way play at current odds ($9 at publish).

No. 3 Demitasse
This looks a perfect race for Demitasse.
The Shalaa gelding is yet to win in four runs back from a break, but his recent performances have suggested that another win is just around the corner, and he finished second behind an impressive Whinchat at Randwick-Kensington last time out.
He’s hard fit, this is a drop in class and he just needs a little luck early from the draw to receive every chance.
