No. 3 Time Bandit
Time Bandit was scratched from a race at Mudgee yesterday to run here, and I think he’s going take a power of beating.
The Star Turn filly showed some promise during her debut prep, breaking her maiden most notably, while she returned with a smart effort to only just miss here.
With natural improvement, she can continue her rise through the grades today.
Nowra - Race 3 2:50pm AEDT
No. 5 Absolute Power
Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott have Absolute Power in at Nowra today, and it looks an ideal campaign launchpad.
The I Am Invincible gelding made just two appearances at the races during her debut prep, running second at Wyong before finishing down the order at Canterbury.
She’s had the benefit of a few trials leading up to today’s return and can use this as a launchpad into something bigger and better.
Newcastle - Race 4 3:40pm AEDT
No. 4 Crop Duster
Crop Duster steps out today at peak fitness and might not be offered a better opportunity to win.
The four-year-old gelding filled the minors at each of his first two starts back this time before working home fairly in tougher company here at Newcastle at his latest.
His best form is certainly good enough to win something like this, and he has options in running today from the rails draw.
Nowra - Race 6 4:45pm AEDT
No. 1 Camerlengo
Open race with a few winning chances engaged, but I thought that Camerlengo looked the value at current odds ($9 at publish).
Camerlengo has proven to be a fair performer throughout his career, and he did manage to return to winning form in BM60 company at his latest.
He’s hard fit and something like this does look the next logical target for him, and we can have an each way play at the price.
