Feature racing heads to Kembla Grange this Friday with the running of the Group 3 Kembla Grange Classic.

The $250k mile event for the fillies will see a full field line up, with last start Group One Surround Stakes placegetter Tutta La Vita currently heading the betting.

Eight races will be run and won on the day with the rail in the true position and the track rated a good 4.

Our Ladbrokes preview can be found below.

Race 1 - 1:05pm AEDT

HEALTHIER ILLAWARRA MEN PROVINCIAL MAIDEN PLATE SW (1400 METRES)

King Carlos performed well on debut over 1200m at Newcastle.

After jumping away well he took up a midfield position and when asked to extend in the straight, he held his ground through the line, giving the impression he’ll be suited over that bit further.

A son of So You Think, he will have taken good natural improvement from that outing and the rise to 1400m looks ideal.

He gets the advantage of the inside draw under Rachel King, who takes the mount for Ed O’Rourke.

Race 2 - 1:40pm AEDT

SOUTH BREAK MEDIA MAIDEN HANDICAP (1500 METRES)

Draco’s Fire has been placed in both of his runs to date and looks well placed here up to 1500m.

The Rubick gelding made the trip to Scone for his debut outing where he was wide for most of the run but was strong through the line over the 1200m trip.

He then stepped out to 1400m where he hit he front 250m out and looked the winner but was just collared in the shadows of the post.

Fitter for the two runs, looked ideally placed here and with any luck from the wide gate he should be right there at the finish.

Race 3 - 2:15pm AEDT

ASSETT PROFESSIONAL SERVICES KEMBLA GRANGE STAYERS CUP - BM68 HANDICAP (2400 METRES)

Wilshire Boulevard has been racing well since joining the John Sargent yard and will appreciate the drop in grade.

The Tavistock mare won well over 2200m at Scone back in January before two solid performances over 2400m in midweek metro grade.

She’s racing well, she comes here hard fit and gets in nicely under 53kg with Molly Bourke’s claim.

Race 4 - 2:50pm AEDT

ST GEORGE ILLAWARRA DRAGONS MAIDEN PLATE (1200 METRES)

The lone two year old in the field, Media World made his debut in the Listed Merson Cooper Stakes back in early December and there was a lot to like about his run.

After jumping away well he was wide in the early part but just got shuffled back as the field packed up.

He was very green in the early part of the straight but once asked for an effort he really let down well over the final stages.

Still a colt, the son of Written Tycoon will have taken plenty of improvement from the experience and has been given time to mature.

He comes here off a very pleasing Randwick trial, where he travelled nicely in behind them and let down well to win the heat.

Tom Sherry will do the steering for team Snowden, he does have the wide draw to overcome but with any luck, should prove hard to beat.

Race 5 - 3:25pm AEDT

PFD FOOD SERVICES AJ BERT LILLYE MEMORIAL BM94 HANDICAP (1200 METRES)

Garza Blanca resumes.

The four year old entire hasn’t always had the best of luck but has continued to race well and the form around him is solid.

He was sent to the paddock and after pulling up lame in the Group Three Rising Fast Stakes in November and looks to have come back in good order having performed well in a recent 1000m trial.

Ciaron Maher has elected to apply the blinkers for the first time and Jason Collett goes aboard.

Race 6 - 4:00pm AEST

CANADIAN CLUB BM64 HANDICAP (1400 METRES)

Movader hasn’t been all that far away in three runs back and should appreciate the drop back to provincial level.

The daughter of Invader proved herself a handy mare last campaign with solid performances against smart opposition.

Last start she was taken back to last off the wide gate at Canterbury and was doing her best work late.

The rise to 1400m will suit and whist her best form has been on wet tracks, she’ll still more than capable on a firm surface.

Jason Collett takes the mount and will see her afforded a soft run from gate three.

Race 7 - 4:40pm AEDT

PERONI KEMBLA GRANGE CLASSIC 3YO FILLIES GROUP 3 (1600 METRES)

Harlow Mist comes off a very encouraging first up performance in the Group Two Angus Armanasco Stakes

Over the 1400m journey, the daughter of Contributor was always three deep with cover and kept working to the line strongly to finish fourth.

She’ll appreciate to step up to the mile and has won at her only second up outing.

A very progressive filly, she comes off the back of a big first campaign where she won her first three starts before placing in the Wakeful and then going on to contest the VRC Oaks.

She comes back in top order and will continue to improve as she stretches out over further.

Reece Jones takes the mount for John Sargent and from gate two she’ll enjoy a cosy run.

Race 8 - 5:20pm AEST

AVCON PROJECTS MIDWAY BM64 HANDICAP (1600 METRES)

Hemsworth strips fitter for the two runs back and looks ready to peak third up.

Last start over the 1400m here he was caught three deep without cover throughout and kept working strongly to the line.

A son of Reliable Man, he’ll appreciate the rise to 1600m and he has won over this trip previously.

He was racing well last preparation in stronger grade and he looks perfectly placed here.

Amy McLucas will take 2kgs off and with any luck from the wide draw he should be right there at the finish.
