Canterbury - Race 4 2:35pm
No. 4 Huesca
This is an excellent midweek metro race with some serious talent engaged, including Huesca.
Huesca returned to action with a nice performance to finish fourth, beaten less than two lengths by Marble Arch in BM78 company at Sandown last month and worked home well again to only just miss behind Green Shadows at his latest.
Fitter third-up and getting further out in trip today, he’s primed to strike.
Caulfield Heath - Race 4 2:45pm
No. 10 Togetherforever
Togetherforever takes winning form into this contest and looks well placed to make it two in a row.
The Impending mare worked home well to finish second in maiden company at Strathalbyn first-up this time before blowing them away over 1000m at Ballarat last time out.
This is obviously another rise in class, but she’s open to further improvement, and the retention of Jamie Kah further enhances her claims.
Canterbury - Race 7 4:20pm
No. 1 Gold Revolver
Another excellent race that is full of genuine Saturday metro talent, including Gold Revolver.
Gold Revolver returned to action with a sharp performance and win in BM72 company at Rosehill, and he franked that effort with another comfortable victory in a similar race at Randwick-Kensington.
A big weight is the knock, but he takes further improvement into this race and will be tough to beat again.
Caulfield Heath - Race 7 4:30pm
No. 6 Aztec State
Aztec State strips fitter for a credible fresh run and strikes a winnable race today at Caulfield Heath.
The Pierro gelding stamped himself as one to watch during his debut prep, ending the campaign third in Listed company, while he clearly needed his first run back at Sandown to tune up.
He’s drawn ideally under Mark Zahra, and I can’t find a reason why he won’t be in the finish.
