Melton - Race 4 6:37pm

No. 2 His Dream Lives On

An even field of runners assemble for this 40-49 raters, with the Team Brosnan gelding coming out on top here.

This son of Four Starzz Shark has been racing exceptionally well of late, most recently hitting the line well to finish just behind the placegetters here at Melton in a similar race. Prior to that, this runner used to early speed to settle outside the leader in the run, sticking on valiantly to finish second.

Although this gelding has not won since July of 2022, this race appears to be well within his grasp and could potentially provide concession driver Hannah Lewis with her first victory in the sulky.

Melton - Race 5 7:06pm

No. 8 Hugo Rocks

A stalwart of the astute Ashleigh Herbertson camp, this gelding strikes an imminently winnable affair this evening.

A horse blessed with a nice turn of speed, this gelding has been racing better than his number form suggests, most recently finishing midfield behind the talented Dee Roe at Hamiltion in the second fastest run race of the day. That form has been franked, with Dee Roe scoring stylishly in a stronger race than this during the week.

Although barrier eight may scare some punters off, our hard earned will be in good hands with superstar driver James Herbertson doing holding the reins. Our map looks amiable, given we will hopefully be three back the rail, aided by the sprint lane.

Melton - Race 6 7:36pm

No. 4 Rocknroll Gronk

As much as this consistent gelding may not have as much talent as some of those drawn off the back row, he is brought right into play off the basis of the map.

At his last start, this Diccoco gelding performed creditably when finishing fifth over the 2240m here at Melton, enduring a few slight hampers in the run on that occasion. Prior to that effort, he was narrowly defeated at Shepparton in a slightly inferior race, however he was able to lead from a middle of the line draw.

As one may have assumed given what has already been written, it is hoped that regular driver John Caldow will spear this gelding out to adopt the position of leader over the short course, and from there it is hard to see this runner missing a place.

Melton - Race 7 8:06pm

No. 5 Watts Up Partytime

Trained by Andy Gath, this gelding had made a stellar start to his campaign prior to last outing, and hopefully we see the best of him again here this evening.

Winning his first two starts back from a spell in brilliant order, this gelding was let down by his racing manners last start as mentioned; which we are willing to forgive as regular driver Kate Gath returns to the race bike here this evening. Gaths driving services are also a significant lead given she has elected to drive this runner over key danger and stablemate Wishing Star.

A versatile runner, Gath will have options at the start but it is anticipated that she will work her way to the front on the son of Majestic Son, and from there he will provides stiff opposition for his rivals.
