Scone - Race 1 11:35am
No. 1 Conspirator
Conspirator has just had the one race start and there was plenty to like about his performance.
Over the 1000m at Muswellbrook, he was always wide and exposed but still charged home strongly, only to be denied by the barest of margins.
The rise to 1300m looks ideal for this son of Japanese sire Daiwa Major and from gate two he’s drawn to receive all the favours.
Scone - Race 4 1:20pm
No. 3 Pisanello
Pisanello was only narrowly beaten when resuming at Wyong and will have taken good benefit from the run.
From the outside gate the Ribchester gelding was always wide but still finished off strongly in the heavy 10 conditions to just go down by a nose.
In his first campaign he showed good ability and looks to have come back bigger and better.
He should enjoy getting out onto the bigger track and with any luck from the wide gate, he’ll be right in this.
Scone - Race 5 1:55pm
No. 3 La Pleine Lune
La Pleine Lune could not have been more impressive when making his debut during the Warrnambool carnival a little over two weeks ago.
The son of Puissance de Lune had performed well in an 800m jump out prior and over the 1200m on raceday, he took up the running and continued to extend his margin over the final stages to record a nine length victory.
The runner up has since gone on to salute, so the form is holding up nicely.
He will have taken good natural improvement from the run and has drawn to receive every chance.
Scone - Race 8 3:45pm
No. 2 Nugget
Nugget resumes off a six week freshen up after finishing a close fourth in the Group One Doncaster Mile.
Held up in the early part of the straight, he burst through the middle to split the placegetters, finishing just .7 of a length off Celestial Legend.
The seven year old son of Siyouni was solid when resuming over 1400m in the Futurity Stakes and just looked in need of the outing at his subsequent start.
With the three runs under his belt along with a recent 1200m trial, he comes here in peak order.
He’ll appreciate the drop back in grade and Dylan Gibbons goes in the saddle for Ciaron Maher in the Scone Cup 2024.
