Canterbury - Race 1 1:25pm
No. 6 Exceed Perfection
I’m keen on Exceed Perfection stepping back to the midweeks today.
Exceed Perfection has been racing in good and consistent form this time in, and he was last seen finishing off well on the placegetters’ heels at Rosehill.
He’s in peak order this week, while the booking of Tim Clark adds further confidence.
Sandown - Race 5 2:45pm
No. 5 Kodiak Bear
Kodiak Bear drops in class at Sandown this afternoon and will take plenty of beating.
The Tosen Stardom gelding was beaten more than three lengths at The ‘Bool when resuming early last month and took plenty of improvement into a nice performance to again finish fourth, this time in the VOBIS Gold Stayers at Caulfield.
With further improvement and getting back to the midweeks, I can’t find a reason why he won’t be in the finish.
Canterbury - Race 5 3:45pm
No. 2 Demarcay
Demarcay turned in a vastly improved effort here second-up from a spell and is primed to strike.
His fresh effort left plenty to the imagination when he only beat a couple of runners home, but Demarcay kept on coming into second, beaten just over half a length at this track and trip at his latest.
Fitter third-up and under James McDonald, he is my best bet of the day.
Sandown - Race 8 4:30pm
No. 9 Skipjack
Skipjack strikes a great race at Sandown.
The Rubick colt won on debut back in March and was immediately tipped out, and he returned with a decent effort to fill the minors at Flemington last month.
With natural improvement, he’s primed to win.
