Newcastle - Race 2 1:10pm
No. 7 Lost Illusions
Lost Illusions has improved with each of three runs back from a break and can record her first career win at Newcastle this afternoon.
Having finished on the placegetters’ heels at Muswellbrook in her first run back, Lost Illusions ran on well to finish third at Scone before only just missing at Grafton.
She’s hard fit and I can’t find a reason why she won’t be in the finish again.
Ballarat - Race 4 2:30pm
No. 3 Muktamil
Muktamil has been racing consistently since resuming and gets a great chance to win today.
The Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young-trained gelding filled the minors in races at Pakenham and Cranbourne first and second up this time before working home fairly again at Mildura last time out.
He steps out today in peak order and might not be offered a better opportunity than this.
Newcastle - Race 7 4:15pm
No. 10 Wings Of Desire
Wings Of Desire puts an unbeaten record on the line today at Newcastle.
The Pride Of Dubai filly has only made one appearance at the races so far, but she couldn’t have been much more impressive when comfortably accounting for them in the Hawkesbury maiden.
This is obviously a rise in class, but she has plenty of upside and she can continue her progression.
Ballarat - Race 8 4:30pm
No. 3 Frenchmans Bay
I’m going to give a fit Frenchmans Bay one last chance at Ballarat today, getting back onto the turf.
Frenchmans Bay returned to action with a nice performance to finish second on the synthetic and has since finished down the order in two more races, also on the synthetic.
She’s drawn well today on the inside, and we can have an each way play at a double-figure quote ($10 at publish).
