Samurai Star was excellent last start when finishing a nose second over 2265m at Geelong.
The Mitchell Freedman-trained Tosen Stardom gelding settled last before improving on the turn and letting down strongly in the straight to fight out the finish in a three-way go.
He’s rock hard fit and maps to get an economical run from barrier 1 at Hamilton today.

No. 2 Tequila Storm
Tequila Storm will appreciate the massive drop in class after a solid effort at Caulfield Heath last start.
The seven-year-old mare was super impressive two starts back when resuming over 1000m at Warrnambool where despite racing three wide on a hot speed, she let down strongly to win by 2.5 lengths.
She’ll strip fitter and went within a nose of winning third-up last preparation.
Hamilton - Race 7 4:30pm AEDT
No. 1 Fiftysevenyears
Fiftysevenyears was unlucky when resuming over 1454m at Kyneton last start.
The son of Street Boss was trucking into the race nicely but was held up from the top of the straight and only got clear when it was all over to finish 2.5 lengths fourth.
He’ll strip fitter second-up and will appreciate the rise in distance.
Senior jockey Jack Hill, who won his only previous ride on him, replaces the 3kg claimer which is a big plus.

No. 2 Frawley
Frawley will appreciate the drop in class after giving a big sight over 1321m at Geelong last start.
The Price & Kent Jnr-trained entire led and fought gamely when challenged mid-straight before finishing two lengths fourth.
He raced well the start prior when resuming over 1200m here with a 2.5 length second.
He’ll strip fitter third-up and can lead from the inside barrier.
