Our Eagle Farm preview focuses on this Wednesday’s metropolitan race meeting, where nine races will be run and won.

The rail will be out 12m for the entire circuit and the track is currently rated a soft 6.

With more rain on the way, we’re certain to see a downgrade during the day.

Race 1 - 12:20pm AEST

RACECOURSE VILLAGE QTIS 2YO HANDICAP (1400 METRES)

Love To Torque has had the two race starts and showed good improvement last time to salute here at Eagle Farm over 1300m.

Very raw on debut, the Maurice filly still found the line well and given time, she returned from a break in top order as she settled well throughout the run and was too strong late.

The light rise to 1400m looks ideal and she gets in beautifully with the 2kg claim for Cody Collis.

Race 2 - 12:55pm AEST

THE GIBSON. MAIDEN PLATE (1000 METRES)

There was a lot to like about the debut effort of A Touch From Fayt and she’ll be better for the experience.

A late bloomer, the four year old mare had trialled very well prior to stepping out over the 1000m on the Sunshine Coast for her first raceday appearance and she showed plenty of heart to go the line in a bob of heads.

Beaten by only the barest of margins, she looked to do everything right throughout the run and with natural improvement, she looks a top chance here to go one better.

1 unit – A TOUCH FROM FAYT

Race 3 - 1:34pm AEST

BRC MILLINERS MARKET 11 APRIL CLASS 3 PLATE (1600 METRES)

Dark Vador is racing well and presents hard fit.

Prepared at Warwick Farm by Matthew Smith, the Invader gelding was solid through the line over the mile two runs back and just looked to be in need of more ground when dropping back to 1300m last time.

He’ll appreciate the rise in trip and gets in nicely with Cody Collis’ 2kg claim.

1 unit – DARK VADOR

Race 4 - 2:09pm AEST

XXXX SIDELINE BEER GARDEN 3 MAY MAIDEN HANDICAP (1800 METRES)

Chillaxing did a few things wrong last time which ultimately cost him the race.

Having his second start on Australian soil, the Irish import wanted to lay in down the straight at the Sunshine Coast making it difficult for his rider to get the best out of him but he still managed to find the line well and claim third.

The son of Galileo just had the one start in his homeland before making his way downunder and he was placed over 2414m in heavy going on that occasion.

He looks to have plenty of upside and with if he does things right, he should prove hard to beat.

Damien Thornton goes aboard for Tony Gollan and from the inside draw he’s set to receive a cosy run in transit.

1 unit – CHILLAXING

Race 5 - 2:44pm AEST

LADBROKES CALCUTTA & LUNCHEON 13 JUNE BM65 HANDICAP (1800 METRES)

Kirikan hasn’t been far away in recent runs and looks to have found a winnable race.

The Chris Waller trained gelding had been racing well without winning in Sydney prior to his latest run where he just held his ground to the line.

After stepping out over 2140m late last month, he just looked to find the mile too short last time.

He’ll certainly appreciate the rise to 1800m and he gets a senior rider back aboard with Ryan Moloney to do the steering.

1 unit – KIRIKAN

Race 6 - 3:19pm AEST

STRADBROKE SEASON BOOK NOW QTIS 3YO MAIDEN PLATE (1400 METRES)

Moscow Circus has been placed in both starts this campaign and looks well placed to break through.

A daughter of Russian Revolution, the filly headed headed north to the Matthew Dunn yard after having just one run for the Anthony and Sam Freedman and she’s performed very well on both occasions.

Kicking off over 1000m she was solid to the line, going down by half a length and last time, up to 1200m here, she tried hard and got within a head of the eventual winner.

The rise to 1400m looks ideal and she’ll be suited in conditions.

1 unit – MOSCOW CIRCUS

Race 7 - 3:54pm AEST

XXXX GOLD CLASS 5 HANDICAP (1200 METRES)

Kodiak makes his first appearance for the new stable.

Previously trained in Victoria, the Flying Artie gelding has performed consistently throughout his fifteen start career and he should have no trouble measuring up here in the Sunshine State.

The 1200m kick off looks ideal and he does boast a strong first up record.

He does have a tricky draw to overcome but with luck in running, I think he’ll right in this.

1 unit – KODIAK

Race 8 - 4:30pm AEST

SKY RACING CLASS 4 HANDICAP (1400 METRES)

Pioneer Lass hasn’t had the best of luck in recent runs but she found the line well last start after settling a long way back.

A very capable mare on her day, she performed well against some handy opposition and with even luck, she’s sure to make her presence felt.

She should find this a touch easier than what she’s been contesting in Sydney and she’ll relish the conditions.

1 unit – PIONEER LASS

Race 9 - 5:08pm AEST

LADBROKES SAME RACE MULTI BM70 HANDICAP (1000 METRES)

Sicilian resumes for the new stable.

Formally prepared by the Waterhouse / Bott team, the daughter of I Am Invincible brings solid formlines and she should find this easier than what she’s previously contested.

From eight starts, she’s recorded two wins and has been stakes placed on a further two occasions.

She races particularly well fresh and was strong through the line in a recent Deagon jump out.

Emily Lang will do the steering and her 1.5kg claim sees the mare in nicely at the weights.

2 units – SICILIAN
