Ten races will be run and won at Caulfield on Easter Cup Day 2025!

My Caulfield best bets this week include an Easter Cup tip of a horse on her way to a Group 1 feature, who should relish the Good (4) conditions this weekend.

You can find my complete Easter Cup Day tips below.

Race 1 - 12:10pm AEDT

Listed Redoute’s Choice Stakes (1100m)

Scenic Point looks a clear standout top pick in the Redoute’s Choice Stakes to kick off the Easter Cup Day racing action on Saturday.

She’s only made one appearance at the races so far, but Scenic Point cruised up in the 1100m Pakenham maiden and kicked clear to win like a good thing.

She’s open to improvement and looks to have a very bright future.

Race 2 - 12:40pm AEDT

Noel Rundle Handicap (1200m)

Heart Of Glass is second up and primed to strike on Easter Cup Day.

The Impending mare hasn’t won a race for nearly a year, but she’s turned in some fine efforts in strong metro company and returned to action to only just miss here last month.

She’s a winner at this point of her prep previously and might not be offered a better opportunity in Saturday company.

Race 3 - 1:15pm AEDT

Stow Storage Bill Collins Handicap (1600m)

This is an open race with plenty of winning chances engaged, including Electric Belle.

Electric Belle has continued to improve with racing and as the bar has been raised this time in, culminating in consecutive wins in BM64 company at Pakenham and then at this track and distance, last time out.

There’s no doubting her fitness this week and she has options in running from the rails draw.

Race 4 - 1:50pm AEDT

Jack Elliott Handicap (1400m)

Pure Alpha requires luck in running after drawing wide, but he’s another one that is open to good improvement second-up from a spell.

The Ardrossan gelding turned in some nice performances in metro company last time in, while he dusted off the cobwebs with a nice effort to finish third, beaten just over half a length here last month.

He’s unbeaten at this point of his preparation and the booking of a senior jockey in Jye McNeil has bolster his claims.

Race 5 - 2:25pm AEDT

Listed Galilee Series Final (2400m)

Red Aces has also accepted into the Australian Derby field up at Randwick, but this is a substantially weaker race and arguably, a better target for him.

He didn’t show a lot in his first two runs back from a spell, but Red Aces turned in an improved performance getting out in trip when fifth in the Alister Clark Stakes last time.

He looks to be in peak order now and a mile and a half suits.

Race 6 - 3pm AEDT

Bert Bryant Handicap (2000m)

Kings Valley has been racing in consistent form this time and strikes another winnable contest this week.

The Territories gelding has won three of his last five starts, bouncing back from a near miss behind Revelare with a dominant victory up at Randwick last month.

With even luck in running, I can’t find a reason why he won’t be in the finish.

Race 7 - 3:35pm AEDT

Evergreen Turf Geoff Murphy Handicap (1200m)

This looms as the most open race on the program and at publish we’re faced with $6.50 the field, with three joint market favourites.

Matisse is one that I thought would be ready to peak this week and the $8 about her at publish looks value in my opinion.

Matisse has only recorded one win from ten starts, but she’s rarely far away from the winner and hasn’t been out of her depth in some strong black type contests, including last year’s Thousand Guineas.

I thought she was good into third in the lucrative VOBIS Gold Dash here last month, and this looks a lovely third-up target for her.

Race 8 - 4:15pm AEDT

Group 3 Easter Cup (2000m)

Cilacap is a great filly, and I am confident that she can win the Easter Cup on her way to the Australasian Oaks in Adelaide.

Cilacap has won two of three runs back from a break, highlighted by a dominant performance I the Alexandra Stakes at The Valley last time out.

Getting out to 2000m for the first time has to be something of a query, but everything that she has done so far suggests she’ll relish it.

Race 9 - 4:55pm AEDT

Group 3 Victoria Handicap (1400m)

The Victoria Handicap field is open and features plenty of quality gallopers, including Miss Aria.

She’s yet to strike in three runs back from a break, but Miss Aria was only denied by a smart Samangu two runs back before finishing just off the pace of the same horse last time out.

She’s hard fit this week, drops in the weights and is drawn ideally under Harry Coffey.

Race 10 - 5:35pm AEDT

Robert Taranto Handicap (1400m)

I’m going to have something on Angland at big odds second up in the last on Easter Cup Day.

Angland clearly needed his first run back from a break to tune up, but he’s a horse that does tend to improve noticeably with a run under his belt.

With even luck in running, he can fight out the finish in something of this quality.
