The action continues at Caulfield on Saturday when another nine races are run and won.

The rail will be set out four metres around the entire course this week and at publish, we’re faced with a Caulfield track rated in the Good (4) range.

All of my Caulfield best bets for May 10th can be found below!

Race 1 - 12:10pm

Next Payments Handicap (1100m)

Prince Tycoon debuts in a winnable race at Caulfield.

The Written Tycoon gelding has had two public trials so far, winning both impressively.

There isn’t a whole lot of form to study ahead of this race, and this bloke looks well placed for a positive debut.

Race 2 - 12:40pm

National Make Good Solutions Handicap (2400m)

There’s a case to be made for a few of them in this contest and one that appeals at odds is Golden Crusader.

Golden Crusader is yet to strike in three runs back from a break, but each performance has been a clear improvement on its preceding race, and he was last seen filling the minors behind Immediacy at Mornington.

He’s in peak order this week and getting out to the mile and a half looks perfect at this point of his preparation.

Race 3 - 1:15pm

Manhari Handicap (2000m)

I’m going to give a fit Freight Train another chance to win at Caulfield on Saturday.

Freight Train has been competitive without looking the winner in three runs back this time, and he has found form around some above-average opposition.

2000m looks suitable, while the booking of Jye McNeil and an inside draw also boost his chance.

Race 4 - 1:50pm

Assured Insurance Brokers Handicap (1400m)

Madiyya takes winning form into this contest and can go on with it.

The Lindsay Park-trained filly worked home well to finish second on debut at Pakenham in March before breaking her maiden with easy at Sale last time out.

This is obviously harder, but she’s open to further improvement and it certainly doesn’t look beyond her.

Race 5 - 2:25pm

Summit Concepts Merchandise Handicap (1400m)

This is one of the more open races on the program if the market is to be believed and at publish, we’re looking at around $5 the field.

Extreme Virtue hasn’t been seen at the races since October, but she was unbeaten through three starts in spring and was last seen recording an eye-catching victory here at Caulfield.

She’s trialled up nicely and looks a touch of overs in my opinion at current odds ($9 at publish).

Race 6 - 3pm

GMH Fire & Safety Australia Handicap (1600m)

Mary Eliza turned in some fine performances during her debut campaign but needed her first run back in the Mornington Guineas to tune up.

She’s a winner at this point of her preparation previously and has drawn to receive a lovely run in transit this week.

2 Units Mary Eliza

Race 7 - 3:40pm

Ern Jensen Funerals – Pinder Family Mile (1600m)

Saban looks well placed at Caulfield this week.

The Shamus Award gelding has raced consistently in contests not dissimilar to this one in recently preparations, and he returned to action with a fair effort for fifth behind the talented King Zephyr at Flemington a couple of weeks ago.

With natural improvement and out to a mile this week, I can’t find a reason why he won’t be in the finish.

1 Unit Saban

Race 8 - 4:15pm

Thoroughbred Club Of Australia Handicap (1400m)

War Machine has raced consistently in ten starts since debuting, and he returned to action with an eye-catching effort to only just miss in the Listed Hareeba Stakes.

He strips fitter for that run, and this is a weaker race.

Race 9 - 4:50pm

Wagstaff Group Handicap (1200m)

The consistent Pivot City rates as a key winning chance again in the last at Caulfield.

Pivot City returned to action with a fine performance to win down the straight at Flemington in March, while he has since placed in strong company at The Valley and Bendigo.

He seems to find his best with his runs spaced and is a month between starts again this week.
