A jam-packed nine-race card has been set at Randwick-Kensington this Wednesday.
Rain earlier in the week has the track rated in the Heavy range at time of publish, but easing conditions could see things firm up with the rail still out 3m.
See below for our best bets across the program this Wednesday at Randwick-Kensington, including a mare going around at good value in the first, and our best bet in Race 5.
Race 1 - 11:40am AEDT
SCHWEPPES HANDICAP (1400 METRES)
JENNI GONE BONKERS (12) looks a nice price for a filly who ran on strongly to grab a place over 1400m at Kembla Grange last month.
The daughter of Maurice was competing off a four-week freshen-up, finding the centre of the straight where she knuckled down to finish within half a length of Just A Journey.
She’s open to natural improvement on less of a turnaround now, and providing she finds cover this time with Ashley Morgan hopping back in the saddle, she looks more than capable of running a good race.

Race 2 - 12:15pm AEDT
SCHWEPPES HANDICAP (1400 METRES)
SOUTHERN PRINCE (7) gets the tongue tie on for the first time hoping to improve on a strong effort for third fresh at Newcastle.
The colt by Trapeze Artist plugged away down the outside to close the gap over the final 100m, indicating this rise in distance should suit on an improved track.
He’s still maturing and a little green at times, but drawn a perfect gate to get back and run on under Alysha Collett, he looks a nice each-way play with some fitness on his side.

Race 3 - 12:50pm AEDT
DRINKWISE PLATE (1400 METRES)
CHARLEROI (1) should have a bit of support after flashing home late for third here a few weeks ago.
Sara Ryan’s three-year-old was given a well-timed steer off the speed under Chad Schofield, the pair finishing a distant 2.5 lengths off Maori Chief, a run he can only improve on as he gets out over further.
The extra 2kg is a factor here, but Chad Schofield just needs to have him in the right spot to go on with the job.
1 Unit Charleroi (1)
Race 4 - 1:25pm AEDT
OLE KIRK @ VINERY STUD HANDICAP (1250 METRES)
Happy to stick with CRUEL SUMMER (1) here third-up for Paul Perry.
He only put a small field away at Canterbury a couple of weeks ago, but did so with real authority bolting in along the rail on a very wet day.
He’d probably like the rain to hang around, but drawn another inside gate with some likable third-up form, I still think he’s the one to beat.
1 Unit Cruel Summer (1)
Race 5 - 2:00pm AEDT
ASAHI SUPER DRY HANDICAP (1250 METRES)
HELLBENT ON YOU (2) continues to race well for John Thompson.
All three of her runs this time in have been solid, winning fresh at Hawkesbury only narrowly, and more recently bolting in late down the outside for second over 1200m at Warwick Farm.
A little sting out of the track won’t hurt and the booking of James McDonald signals a bit of intent from the stable now.
1 Unit Hellbent On You (2)
Race 6 - 2:35pm AEDT
ASAHI SUPER DRY HANDICAP (1250 METRES)
KILKENNY (13) made it look easy winning her maiden on return at Kembla Grange a few weeks ago.
Jeff Penza had the I Am Invincible filly in the right spot out of the turn, pushing the button around the 200m mark where the pair flew home to win by a whopping eight lengths.
James McDonald takes the ride now for this step up in grade and off a short freshen-up, the step back in distance should suit.
1 Unit Kilkenny (13)
Race 7 - 3:10pm AEDT
HYLANDS RACE COLOURS HANDICAP (1800 METRES)
ROTAGILLA (9) can improve on recent efforts with the class of Tim Clark back in the saddle.
His latest run at Gosford never really went according to plan over the mile, finding himself caught slightly wide in the early stages, which caused him to overrace.
As soon on debut, he is a horse of real ability, so with improvement still to come, the longer trip should suit.
1 Unit Each-Way Rotagilla (9)
Race 8 - 3:45pm AEDT
BM64 HANDICAP (1800 METRES)
ANDERSON BRIDGE (4) goes around third-up for Chris Waller coming off a handy run at Randwick last start against tougher company.
The Savabeel four-year-old was a little slow away, but still gace nice chase once a split opened up to finish a distant fifth to Yankee One.
His maiden win came at this stage of his prep as a three-year-old last year and he draws to do no work early from barrier 5. Providing he handles the wet track, he should go well.
0.5 Unit Anderson Bridge (4)
Race 9 - 4:20pm AEDT
VINNIE THREE-TIME CHAMPION SIRE HANDICAP (1400 METRES)
TRUE TO FORM (9) could give this a bit of a shake if he improves on his latest effort over shorter at Warwick Farm.
He’s been kept fresh for the run with nearly a month between, but I thought there was a bit to like about the way he finished off after copping some interference around the 200m mark.
Unbeaten second up and drawn a much kinder gate this time, this rates a winnable race with Jason Collett back in the saddle, who has won previously in the irons.
