Caulfield - Race 2 2.00pm AEDT
Sherlock Holmes has improved each time that he has been seen at the races in Australia and this could be the day that he breaks through. I like the fact that the Macedon Lodge team of Lloyd Williams have dropped him back in distance and the scratching of his stablemate Goodwill is a positive lead.
Caulfield - Race 5 3.45pm AEDT
Prompt Response has had no luck in running in either of her race starts this preparation and she has an excellent chance to return to winning form in the Ladies’ Day Vase. She is a mare that generally improves the further that she gets into her preparation and Damien Oliver has an excellent strike rate when he combines with Gai Waterhouse.
Caulfield - Race 6 4:25pm AEDT
Summer Passage has been freshened-up since he finished a tough second in the Ladbrokes Caulfield Guineas Prelude and he is an excellent each-way bet at his current price. He has the speed to press across and take up a forward position in the early stages of this race and his record over 1200 metres in New Zealand is excellent.
Caulfield - Race 7 5.05pm AEDT
Calanda will return to the races for the first time since his Ramornie Handicap victory and he is good value in an open edition of the Italktravel Stakes. Calanda has an excellent first-up record and he still has plenty of upside – unlike some other horses in this field that have probably reached their level. Team Snowden have an excellent record at Caulfield and when they combine with Hugh Bowman.
