We are down to the final four teams in the 2021 Champions League and the possibility of an all-English final is very much alive.
Chelsea is out for its first Champions League title in nine seasons and will take on a Real Madrid side that has won four finals since then.
On the other side of the draw, this may be Manchester City’s best chance to claim its first Champions League crown as they face a PSG side buoyed by their Quarter Final win over reigning champions Bayern Munich.
It is going to be a massive eight days and football fans all over the world will be in for a treat as some of the biggest names on the planet chase the ultimate prize.
Read on and see who we are backing below.
Out of the four matches to be played in the Champions League Semi Finals, this may be the driest contest.
Both teams come into this fixture with a phenomenal defensive record and they will use that as a platform for their eventual progression.
Real has not conceded a goal in four matches and has not allowed more than one goal since a January 31 defeat to Levante, coincidentally the last time they lost a match as well.
Chelsea’s stat line is largely similar with Thomas Tuchel’s ruthlessly efficient approach at the back yielding three consecutive clean sheets and just nine goals conceded in his 21 matches in charge, five of which were scored by West Brom.
A 0-0 draw ($7.00) is certainly tempting with the market shading a low scoring contest but I’ll stick with at least one of the sides being able to walk away with a clean sheet.
Back Both Teams to Score (No) @ $1.75
It’s the Sugar Daddy Derby in the other Semi Final as PSG and Manchester City both chase their first major continental title.
On paper the French side is one of the few teams that can match up player for player against City, who will reportedly receive a double boost with Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero both making their way back from injury for this tie.
PSG knocked out Bayern in the last round on the back of a resounding performance in the first leg and they should be looking for a similar outcome in Paris this week as City is not used to chasing matches.
Truth be told, scoring a couple of away goals and only losing by one would not be the worst outcome for City with the second leg back at the Etihad.
At their current price, and assuming Mbappe is able to shake off the knock suffered against Metz, I can’t turn down PSG at home at this price.
Back PSG to Win @ $3.20
A spot in Istanbul is just 90 (or 120) minutes away for the Champions League Semi Finalists.
Manchester City has the edge over French giants PSG thanks to an impressive win in Paris, while the Chelsea-Real Madrid tie is firmly on a knife’s edge after a draw in Spain.
Read on and see who we are backing in the second leg of the Champions League Semi Finals.
FIRST LEG: Manchester City Won 2-1
Manchester City just has to avoid defeat at home and they will be in the Champions League Final for the first time in club history.
To fully grasp the scale of the challenge facing PSG, City has lost just twice in their last 23 matches at the Etihad.
It is not in Pep Guardiola’s DNA to sit back and just play for a draw, he will instruct his players to not do anything stupid but still go out and try to win the match to continue their momentum.
I’ll back City to showcase the resolve and drive that has served them so well all season by winning the match and scoring at least twice.
Back Manchester City to Win & Over 1.5 Goals (90 Minutes) @ $1.87
FIRST LEG: 1-1 Draw
It’s fair to say that Chelsea will probably feel the better of the two sides after emerging from Real Madrid with a 1-1 draw last week.
Timo Werner’s wastefulness in front of goal might have cost them a potential advantage to bring back to Stamford Bridge but Chelsea will still feel like they have the upper hand on Real as it stands.
Scoring on Thomas Tuchel’s defence has not been an easy task (unless you are West Brom) and I can see Real battering the door down for the majority of the match as they try and chase an upset win here.
Everything about this tie as it is currently constituted screams extra time and possibly penalties, so that is the angle I will take when finding a play for this fixture.
We aren’t going to be in for a Champions League classic that finishes 4-4, both sides will take a safety first approach and a 1-1 final score offers a decent price.
Back a 1-1 Draw @ $5.80
The 2020 Champions League Semi Finals are here and we will be treated to two intriguing fixtures this week.
Bayern Munich secured their place on top of Champions League betting with their utter demolition of Barcelona and they are dominant favourites to account for Lyon, while Paris St Germain are favourites to qualify for their first ever Champions League Final with a win over RB Leipzig.
Will the favourites get the job done or will we see more Champions League upsets?
We have analysed both games and our 2020 Champions League Semi Finals tips can be found below.
Wednesday 19 August, 5:00am, Estadio da Luz
RB Leipzig 0 – PSG 3
There is nowhere near as much between these two teams as the current market suggests.
Paris St Germain scored two late goals to eliminate Atalanta and avoid yet another humiliating Champions League exit.
Many experts believe that win has got the Champions League monkey off the back of the French Champions but, if anything, they are under more pressure heading into this clash with RB Leipzig.
Kylian Mbappe, who came off the bench, proved key against Atalanta and his partnership with Neymar will be key to their chances.
There is no doubt that PSG deserve to be favourites, but I couldn’t get them anywhere near as short as their current quote.
RB Leipzig continue to be the most underrated team in Europe.
They are a far more balanced outfit than PSG and their deep defensive line should prove difficult for their rivals to break down.
PSG have shown that they can be vulnerable on the counter attack and RB Leipzig are a team that generally take advantage of their opportunities.
The $4.20 available for RB Leipzig to win this clash in 90 minutes is outstanding value and they could very well set-up an all-German Champions League Final.

Thursday 20 August, 5:00am, Estadio Jose Alvalade
Lyon 0 – Bayern 3
This Bayern Munich side are something else.
They completed humiliated Barcelona with an 8-2 victory in the Quarter Finals and the scary thing for their rivals is that they didn’t even play particularly well.
The fact that Robert Lewandowski only scored one goal and that seven different players had an assist proves that Bayern Munich can beat you in a number of different ways and there is no doubt that they have a huge class edge over Lyon.
In saying that, Lyon have been written off through this Champions League campaign and still managed to advance.
There is no doubt that they were lucky at times against Manchester City, but they took their chances and that is all you need to do in this format.
Bayern Munich did show some vulnerabilities at the back against Barcelona and they may not keep a clean sheet against Lyon, but it is tough not to see them progressing to the Champions League Final.
Back Bayern Munich To Win Not To Nil @ $2.20
It’s down to the final four in the UEFA Champions League and after an absolutely madhouse finish to the quarter finals, these ties have a lot to live up to.
The first legs have come and gone and now it all boils down to the 90 (or 120) minutes on Wednesday and Thursday morning as the two English clubs are left with a lot of work in front of them.
Liverpool at least has the comfort of a home tie, although the nerves that comes with facing Leo Messi and co while Tottenham have to overhaul a deficit in Amsterdam as the Ajax fairytale rolls on.
Scroll down for our previews and predictions for the second legs of the UEFA Champions League Semi Finals.
Wednesday 1 May, 5:00am, Tottenham Stadium
Tottenham 0 – Ajax 1
It’s fair to say that both sides will go into this tie feeling very confident about their chances of reaching next month’s final.
After starting their campaign in the Second Qualifying Round against Sturm Graz, Ajax progressed from a ground containing Bayern Munich before knocking out Real Madrid and Juventus already.
This will be the first meeting between these sides since the 1981 European Cup Winners Cup where Tottenham won in Amsterdam 3-1 before taking out the match at home 3-0
Over the weekend they suffered their first loss at their new stadium, going down to West Ham 1-0 as they felt the absence of Harry Kane for the first time.
That being said there is still plenty of attacking potential in both sides, even with Son Heung-min sitting out through suspension.
It’s hard to see Ajax being kept off the scoresheet and it’s hard to imagine Tottenham being content with anything less than a win here to take to the Netherlands next week.
Because of how even these teams are, I’ll steer clear of the result market and back a few goals to go in instead.
Back Over 2.5 Goals @ $1.85
Thursday 2 May, 5:00am, Nou Camp
Barcelona 3 – Liverpool 0
After wrapping up the La Liga title, Barcelona now tries to claim its first Champions League since 2015.
They take on last season’s finalists Liverpool who are flying after crushing Huddersfield over the weekend.
It’s been a long time since these sides met on the European stage with the Reds progressing on the away goals rule.
Like the other match, there is plenty of goalscoring firepower on both sides, especially with Mohamed Salah returning to form at the best possible time.
For the home side, it’s all about Lionel Messi though, we have seen him destroy plenty of English opponents at the Nou Camp before and even Liverpool’s rock solid defence could be in for a real test here.
Head to head there is enough value in backing Barcelona to win outright but I’ll look for a little bit more and add in Messi as an anytime goalscorer.
Back Lionel Messi to Score and Barcelona to Win (SGM)
Wednesday 8 May, 5:00am, Anfield
FIRST LEG: Barcelona Won 3-0
In a development that will surprise absolutely nobody, Messi is ridiculously good and has Barcelona on the verge of another Champions League Final.
His masterclass in the 3-0 win at the Nou Camp has Liverpool in need of some of that European Night Magic if they are to overhaul that deficit.
That means Jurgen Klopp is going to have to go for it although he will be without Roberto Firminho and possibly his leading man Mo Salah after the latter was knocked out at Newcastle over the weekend.
Even if the Egyptian does make a big recovery and is able to take to the pitch, it’s a big ask to try and keep Barcelona out.
With the amount of chances both sides had last week, this has the makings of another high scoring affair so rather than try to pick a winner on the night, I’ll just stick with the total goals market.
Back Over 3.5 Goals @ $2.38
Thursday 9 May, 5:00am, Johan Cruijff ArenA
FIRST LEG: Ajax Won 1-0
There’s no doubt Ajax’s goal in London gives them a huge advantage going into this tie.
A draw will be enough to send them through to the Champions League Final and Real Madrid are the only side to defeat them at home in all competitions this year.
Tottenham scoring the opening goal would change everything in this tie as it would cancel out the Ajax away goal and with Son coming back into the side from suspension, he has that game breaking ability.
With all due respect to Tottenham, we have seen some of Europe’s biggest teams come to the Johan Cruyff Arena and struggle to break through Ajax’s energetic style.
Expect plenty of goals in this one as Ajax wins on the night and books their spot in European football’s biggest night.
