Los Angeles Rams v Philadelphia Eagles
If we learned one thing about Jared Goff and the Rams offence, it’s that cold weather may be their kryptonite. After posting a measly six points in Chicago they will be glad to return to warmer confines of Southern California here. A win in this game is vitally important as the Rams can all but clinch a first round bye. Depending on the Saints result tomorrow, it could also give them a leg up in the race for home field advantage. The Eagles… aren’t having the same run of luck as last year and they now have to turn to their saviour here. Even at almost two touchdowns, back the Rams to win and cover at home.
Edmonton Oilers v Vancouver Canucks
With Vancouver coming into this game on the second half of a back to back, the Oilers will be looking to take advantage of a tired opponent. The visitors come into this game on the back of a 4-1 win over Eastern Conference strugglers Philadelphia and head into this game with their Canadian cohorts as road favourites. This will be the first meeting between these sides and the Oilers have been impressive on the road with eight wins and another two overtime losses, they should be able to add to that tally here.
Alaves vs Athletic Bilbao
Two desperate sides face off in the final La Liga match of the weekend, as La Liga approaches its winter break. The hosts went into the weekend in fifth place, but winless in their last three league matches. Their opponents picked up a huge win at home against Girona last week but picking up all three points away to a side that has claimed some big scalps at the Mendizorrotza. Alaves look over the odds with Bilbao installed as slight favourites and offer good value for a home “upset”.
