MLB All-Star Game: American League vs. National League
Baseball’s annual All-Star Game takes place from Nationals Park on Wednesday morning, a match up pitting the best stars from each conference against each-other. This game used to hold meaning, but now it’s simply an occasion to showcase the leagues top talent for the fans. The National League squad has been the subject of controversy, but you could argue the NL holds a distinct strikeout advantage with names like Jacob de Grom and Max Scherzer set to take the mound. Hitters like Bryce Harper and Nolan Arenado should also provide plenty of offense.
Portland Trail Blazers vs. Los Angeles Lakers
The NBA Summer League has provided plenty of highlights and upsets, but it all boils down to today’s grand final between the Blazers and Lakers. This young LA team is firing on all cylinders, but after a 21-point performance from Caleb Swanigan last night, the Blazers are no easy match. This should be a great game that comes down to the wire, but if the Lakers can continue to make good on field goals, they should win the final.
Elias Ymer/Mikael Ymer vs. Marcus Daniell/Wesley Koolhof
The Ymer brothers take the court in doubles action tonight at the Swedish Open, and the market remains relatively tight. At just 22-years old, Elias Ymer is a rising Swedish sensation, pegged to be one of the next big things to come from the country since the 1990s. Tonight’s match should showcase his abilities nicely, and after making it past the qualifying round at the French Open, he certainly has the talent (alongside his brother) to win in straight sets.
