Coolmore Classic Odds & Betting
Coolmore Classic betting is usually led by fillies and mares coming off a top two finish in their most recent Group lead-up.
Only two Coolmore Classic winners finished worse than second in their lead-ups from 2010 – 2016 with Appearance (Wiggle Stakes 4th in 2014) and Peeping (Guy Walter Stakes 3rd in 2016). Coolmore Classic odds favour fillies and mares with proven form up to a mile and the Surround Stakes for three-year-olds held a fortnight before the Group 1 is the most successful recent lead-up race.
The race’s barrier draw doesn’t often impact too heavily on the Coolmore Classic odds with a wide spread of winners from across the gates.
The most successful Coolmore Classic barriers in the past 30 years with four winners each are 2, 7 and 14 which produced back-to-back winners in Typhoon Tracy (2009) and Alverta (2010).
