Caulfield Race 8 (2400m) - Sat 20th Oct 2018

Caulfield - VIC:

Showery
Track: Soft (6)
Caulfield Race 8
STELLA ARTOIS CAULFIELD CUP
Distance: 2400m
Race Time: 4:40 PM
Race Status: (Final) Closed
Race Comments:
HOMESMAN Set the pace and weakened in the Caulfield Stakes last start. Will be right on the speed from the draw and is right in the mix with a 6kg weight drop on his last start. YOUNGSTAR It’s fair to say she stretched Winx Last start when run down late in the Turnbull Stakes. Won the Queensland Oaks during the Brisbane Winter Carnival so no worries with the trip. The one to beat. KINGS WILL DREAM Each of his Australian runs has been leading up to this race and has excelled in all of them. Has contested WFA and SWP races this preparation and he's a huge chance here dropping to 53kg under the handicap conditions. THE TAJ MAHAL Won the JRA Cup at Moonee Valley last start. Just the one second from 10 starts at Group I level is a concern but may well be the pace maker revved up early from the wide gate and is a rough place chance if left alone in front.

Gained automatic entry winning the Naturalism two back and wasn’t far from the winner in the Caulfield Stakes last start. Will need plenty of luck from the gate and looks a rough place chance at best.

It’s fair to say she stretched Winx Last start when run down late in the Turnbull Stakes. Won the Queensland Oaks during the Brisbane Winter Carnival so no worries with the trip. The one to beat.
