Ljunberg had no luck last start and he is drawn a lot better here. He was caught wide on a limb all the way last start and he was coming off a really strong win on the Kensington track prior to that. He has the 60 kilos on his back, but he has drawn ideally in gate number one and hopefully Adkins can give him a nice run behind the speed. If he gets that, he will be very hard to beat.
The Avenger represents a bit of value at the $10 mark. I thought he was good first-up from a spell when he finished fourth over an unsuitable distance. I think he is looking for a little bit further now and his record around the 1400 to 1600 metres mark is very good. Sam Weatherly takes a couple of kilos off his back and he is great each-way value.
Girl Tuesday is unbeaten in four starts. She has had two trials and she hit the line well in a solidly run heat at Rosehill last start. There isn’t a lot of speed in the field and she will probably get back, but I think that she has the class to finish over the top of her rivals, even if they do walk in the early stages of the race.
