Dubbo - Race 1 6:18PM AEDT

No. 6 Smooth Overarm

This Amanda Turnbull trained gelding has been a revelation since joining the Western Districts stable, and looks a chance of recording another victory here tonight.

A former Kiwi, this son of Changeover raced well last outing in a metropolitan class race at Menangle, and should appreciate the step back to country grade this evening.

Although drawn atrociously, this six-year-old has the ability to overcome the draw with one of the states most prodigious young drivers aboard in Blake Micallef.

Dubbo - Race 5 8:22PM AEDT

No. 1 Gabbys Reason

An outsider in this race, this Nathan Hurst trained and driven filly still holds each-way claims in the Group Three event nonetheless.

The daughter of For A Reason has been racing well of late, including an eye-catching second placing in her heat of this race last start. A track specialist, this filly has had three starts at the venue for a win and two minor placings.

Drawn ideally in barrier one, this filly can look to settle just off the speed, and should be able to give a good sight at each-way odds from there.

Dubbo - Race 8 9:52PM AEST

No. 7 Misterhindmarsh

This Steve Turnbull trained runner returned off nearly a three year let up last week at Bathurst, recording a stylish win in the process. The seven year old looks primed for a competitive showing again this evening.

This gelding, who is blessed with an absolutely astounding amount of ability; had trialled well in the lead up to the hitherto mentioned win, and will have derived a great deal of fitness out of that performance.

Although drawn problematically in barrier seven, few drivers have as good a grasp of this Dubbo circuit as Mitch Turnbull does, so he should be able to see clear running when necessary.

If he does, the son of Abercrombie Dexter should be a comfortable winner.
