The Lord Reims Stakes is a Group 3 distance race run and won over a testing 2600m at Morphettville Racecourse in late February as a lead-up into the Adelaide Autumn Racing Carnival.

Offering $127,250 in prize money the event is run at set weights plus penalties and is open to horses of all ages.

A time-honoured feature at Morphettville, the Lord Reims Stakes was first held back in 1889 as the West End Draught Stakes. It was renamed the Lord Reims Stakes in 2010 in honour of triple Adelaide Cup champion, the Kiwi-bred Lord Reims (1987–1989) who also won this event twice in 1988 and 1989. Lord Reims is also famous for winning the 1987 Caulfield Cup.

The better stayers in the Lord Reims Stakes traditionally target a run over the two-miles in the Group 2 Adelaide Cup (3200m) held in mid-March.

The Lord Reims Stakes / Adelaide Cup double has been completed 18 times, most recently by Apache King in 2001.

The latest edition of the Lord Reims Stakes ran on Saturday February 26, 2022 at Morphettville in South Australia and was won by the Ryan Balfour-trained Canford ($5.50).
