The 2025 Magic Millions Cup along with six other Magic Millions races were abandoned due to heavy rainfall and rescheduled for Friday night on January 17 under the lights at the Gold Coast.
Ladbrokes Tip: Queensland horses have a poor recent record in the Gold Coast Magic Millions Cup
The Magic Millions Cup is a $2 million race held as part of the $13.75 million Gold Coast Magic Millions Race Day in mid-January each Queensland Summer Racing Carnival.

The meeting hosts ten races in 2025 open only to Magic Millions Sales graduates including the $3 million Magic Millions Classic and $3 million Magic Millions Guineas.
Other events on the program include the Magic Millions Subzero (Trophy), Magic Millions Snippets (Sprint), Magic Millions Fillies & Mares, Magic Millions QTIS Open, the Magic Millions The Syndicate and the Magic Millions The Debut Plate which was split into two divisions for the separate genders in 2024 before returning to a single mixed event in 2025.
The Gold Coast Magic Millions Cup is a Restricted Listed event offering the winner $1,139,200 in prize money and is run under quality handicap conditions over 1400m.
The maximum handicap is 61kg and minimum is 54kg, while the field capacity is 16 horses plus five emergencies that all came via a Magic Millions Catalogue.
Horses come into the Magic Millions Cup field via earlier summer races including the Group 2 $2 million The Ingham Stakes (1600m) – formerly the Villiers Stakes – in Sydney or the Group 3 George Moore Stakes (1200m) in Brisbane.
Many runners will have had a start in either the Magic Millions Cup or another Magic Millions race in previous years. For example, in 2020 Vega One defeated the previous year’s champion Redouble with the 2019 runner-up Sambro finishing third.
The 2021 Magic Millions Cup winner Eleven Eleven meanwhile made it back-to-back Magic Millions Day wins having been awarded the 2020 Guineas after the subsequent disqualification of Alligator Blood.
The next year in 2022 Eleven Eleven made history with yet another Magic Millions Day victory to become the first two-time Magic Millions Cup winner.
The rescheduled Gold Coast Magic Millions Cup 2025 ran under the lights at the Gold Coast on Friday January 17, 2025 offering a lucrative $2 million after the original Magic Millions Raceday was washed out and was won in a smart upset by West Of Africa ($15) from the Neasham/Archibald yard.

Magic Millions Cup Tips
Gold Coast Magic Millions Cup tips include looking for previous performers in the race from earlier years, runners with winning form at the Gold Coast track, older horses proven in top company and well-weighted gallopers in good form over the summer.
2025 Magic Millions Cup Tips
Our Ladbrokes’ insider Magic Millions Cup tips 2025 will be available below leading up to the Gold Coast Magic Millions Races.
- To Win: #2 Abounding ($9.50 at time of publish) – BET NOW
Last year’s Magic Millions Guineas winner Abounding is back chasing another lucrative win at the Gold Coast, and the Rob Heathcote trained Rich Enuff mare looks terrific value at just under $10 at time of publish. She was consistent without winning over the winter including a Group 2 Dane Ripper third and game fourth behind superstar Bella Nipotina in the Group 1 Tiara. Saluted two starts ago in the Listed Tatt’s Classic at Doomben with plenty of weight. Far from disgraced only a length back sixth in the Listed Nudgee last time out from barrier 15 of 15 at Eagle Farm. She’s proven here, brings in the right form lines, and if she overcomes another wider gate she can win at a price.
Magic Millions Cup Form Guide
The Magic Millions Gold Coast Cup form guide gives you all the information you need to place a successful bet on the race including the saddlecloth numbers and starting barriers of the runners, as well as the jockeys and trainers for all horses in the field.
Doing the Magic Millions Cup form is important before enjoying a punt on the race and means looking out for runners with a good Gold Coast track record, those with winning form around the distance (1400m), horses dropping in weight from their last start and in-form summer gallopers.
The Magic Millions Cup form from 2022 was franked with the winner Eleven Eleven finishing third that winter in Brisbane’s Group 1 Kingsford-Smith Cup (1300m) behind the Magic Millions Cup third placed Apache Chase.
The 2024 Magic Millions Cup winner Semana franked the form going on to run top three in a host of subsequent Group 1 races that year including the Coolmore Classic (2nd), Queen Of The Turf (3rd), and Brisbane’s Tatt’s Tiara (2nd).
