The Millie Fox Stakes for fillies and mares is one of three Group 2 races run at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse on Hobartville Stakes Day in February each Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival.

Run over 1300m under set weights plus penalties conditions the race offers $300,000 in total prize money including $170,000 to the Millie Fox Stakes winner. The race is a key lead-up to some top autumn features.

Group 1 races could be on the agenda next for the fillies and mares coming out of the Millie Fox Stakes including the Group 1 Coolmore Classic (1500m) back at the track the following month and Randwick’s Group 1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes (1600m) in April during The Championships.

In 2018 Daysee Doom became the latest mare to complete the Millie Fox Stakes – Coolmore Classic double. Neroli in 2009 was the last Millie Fox winner to go on to take out the Queen Of The Turf Stakes that is now run as the Coolmore Legacy Stakes.

The latest edition of the Millie Fox Stakes took place on Saturday February 24, 2024 at Sydney’s Rosehill Racecourse and was won first-up by Chris Waller’s back-in-form four-year-old Zougotcha ($4.20).

Lady Laguna’s winning streak came to an end in the Millie Fox Stakes 2024 results when she finished a length back second as the beaten favourite behind Chris Waller’s resuming Zoustar four-year-old Zougotcha ($4.20) who returned to the winners’ stall fresh.
