The Group 3 NE Manion Cup* is a 2400m staying race run and won at Rosehill Gardens in March on Golden Slipper Stakes Day during the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival.
*Note: In 2022 the race ran as the Group 3 Queen’s Cup.

The mile and a half showdown offers $250,000 and is open to all horses aged three-years-old and above.
A quality handicap event, the NE Manion Cup was first held in 1972 and is named in honour of former Sydney Turf Club director N.E. Manion.
The race makes a nice lead-up into other distance races at a higher level over the carnival including the Group 1 Tancred Stakes (2400m) the following weekend and even the Group 1 Sydney Cup (3200m) over the two miles at Randwick during ‘The Championships’ in April.
The latest edition of the NE Manion Cup ran on Saturday March 23, 2024 as part of Rosehill’s Golden Slipper Day card in Sydney and was won in style by William Haggas’ Sydney Cup-bound international raider Post Impressionist ($3.90F).

Horses under double-figures in betting make a good NE Manion Cup tip as do any returning runners that finished in the money in the previous season’s edition of the race.
Older runners make the best bet in NE Manion Cup tipping as since Precedence (2010) the only four-year-old to beat the older horses was European raider Favourite Moon (2021).
Favourite Moon was the second international in as many years to win the race following the 2020 success of the fellow William Haggas-trained Young Rascal.
