Ladbrokes Tip: The Rosebud is a key lead-up into the lucrative Group 1 Golden Rose each spring.
The Rosebud is a popular Listed race for three-year-olds run and won in mid-August as part of the Sydney Spring Racing Carnival.
The Black-Type clash was formerly held a week earlier on Missile Stakes Day, but as of 2022 has moved to its own feature race meeting at Rosehill Gardens.
Open only to three-year-old horses, the event takes place over 1100m and offers $160,000 in prize money.
A quality handicap showdown, The Rosebud serves as a traditional lead-up into the Group 1 $1 million Golden Rose (1400m) the following month.
Previously a 1200m race, The Rosebud distance was reduced to 1100m in 2017 when it moved from Randwick to Rosehill and gained Listed status for the first time in 2011.
The next edition of The Rosebud runs on Saturday August 13th, 2022 as the feature race that day at Rosehill Gardens.
