Adelaide 36ers vs Melbourne United
The Adelaide 36ers have not been seen in action since their comfortable win over the Townsville Crocodiles in Round 10 and face a tough task in their return against Melbourne United on Wednesday. Joey Wright’s men are sure to have taken plenty of benefit from their week off and are positioned well to jump as high as third overall if they are successful this week. Melbourne United have fallen horribly out of form through recent weeks and have slipped to third overall following a loss to the bottom-placed Sydney Kings last weekend. In current form it’s hard to say how Melbourne will play, and Adelaide represent terrific value to win at current odds.
Sydney Kings vs New Zealand Breakers
The Sydney Kings have been nothing short of terrible this season but appeared to be starting to make the right moves when they comfortably handed Melbourne United a shock 96-81 defeat away from home last Wednesday. Having proceeded to a loss against local rivals the Illawarra Hawks, the Kings return home to face the New Zealand breakers without star centre Julian Khazzouh, who suffered a serious knee injury in his side’s most recent loss. The Breakers have continued to fly under the radar and now sit second overall with an impressive 10-5 record. The Breakers deserve to start favourites and should have no issue taking another step towards the top of the table on Sunday.
Melbourne United vs Perth Wildcats
Melbourne United return home for their second appearance in Week 12 on Sunday evening to face the league-leading Perth Wildcats. The Wildcats appear to keep going from strength to strength and are now just as much of a threat away from home as they are as arguably the league’s toughest away trip. Three weeks ago this game would have been a blockbuster but in current form it’s difficult to see any result other than a comfortable Wildcats win.
