Check out our Daily Racing Tips for Tuesday August 4th below, including Bairnsdale best bets.
King Tagaloa is second up and primed to strike today at Bairnsdale.
The Tagaloa gelding turned in some fair performances without setting the world on fire during his debut prep, while he took up the running at Seymour when resuming this time before just tiring late.
With natural improvement, he can go forward again, and I think he’ll be able to hang on this time.
| 7. King Tagaloa (8) J: Jake Noonan 59.5kg 468×2T: Julius Sandhu | |||
| Second-up. First-up after seven months led but faded 2nd of 12 at Seymour Mdn-Sw on July 19 over 1600m, in the wet; 2.25 len behind A Long Story Short carrying 59.5kg at $17. Previously second-up 3rd of 11 at Cranbourne Mdn-Sw on October 31 over 1600m, 1.3 len behind Chillies carrying 57kg at $8.50. Further improvement in store. | |||
Jourama resumes in a winnable race today at Bairnsdale.
The Frosted gelding made two appearances at the races during his debut prep, only just missing at Newcastle before finishing on the placegetters’ heels in the lucrative VOBIS Showdown at Caulfield.
Having trialled up well, he can hit the ground running today.
| 11. Jourama (3) J: Damien Thornton 57kg 24xT: Anthony & Sam Freedman | |||
| Resuming after a five months break. Finished off last campaign fourth of 12 at Caulfield Vobis Showdown March 14 over 1200m, 5.5 len behind Big Wigs carrying 58kg at $31. On debut second in a small field at Newcastle 2yo Mdn February 14 over 900m, 4 len behind She’s Extra carrying 58kg at $3.80. Given solid hitout at latest jumpout, which will have him for a big run fresh. | |||
Chateau Vega has been knocking on the door and gets a great chance today at Bairnsdale.
The Matt Laurie-trained mare finished fourth in races at Ballarat and Sale before hitting the line to only just miss here, last time out.
In peak order this afternoon, I don’t think she’ll get a better opportunity to win than this.
| 8. Chateau Vega (2) J: Nadia Daniels 59kg 55442T: Matt Laurie | |||
| Racing well recently. Most recently held ground to the line 2nd of 12 at this track Bm56 on July 13 over 2200m, slow going 0.5 len behind Winter Grace carrying 59kg at $7. The start before that 4th of 14 at Sale Bm62 on June 28 over 1728m, on heavy track; 4.5 len behind Tishman carrying 56.5kg at $21. Working up to a win. Tough to beat. | |||
Blondie’s Toronado can bounce back today at Bairnsdale.
The Toronado mare recorded consecutive victories at Swan Hill and Echuca two and three runs back before a tough and ultimately luckless effort on the Ballarat synthetic last time out.
She steps out today in peak order and getting back onto the turf looks to suit.

| Most recently 5th of 12 at Ballarat Synthetic Bm56 on July 27 over 1200m, 3.5 len behind Bark with 61.5kg at $26. Before that won by a nose at Echuca Bm56 June 23 over 1200m in the wet defeating Reasonable Point with 59.5kg at $3.90. Will hit the line hard. | |||
